How do I get out of Bronze 5?

BattIe Kitten··3 votes·3,485 views

I know, I know.. There has been over trillions of posts like this. I can't get out of bronze, I know nobody cares but I am honestly tired of it, whatever lane I play I do good, get fed, farm tons of cs, push my lane out and take first tower, focus objectives, ward, split my advantage to other lanes and carry teamfights..(atleast I try to).

But it seems hopeless, if its not a mute player hovering over Teemo top in champ-select, who feeds constantly(Even though you gank him and give him a lead), or someone not loading in, the infamous gold smurf in bronze 5 elo, flaming team, its most definitely has to be a troll intentionally feeding.

It feels as if you can only get a good team in every 1 out of 10 games, I'm not blaming the fact I get horrible teams, feeders, flamers etc for me not climbing, I know very well I have made mistakes that I could definitely improve on- and have improved on, yet I still can't seem to climb out.

I do not know if its something wrong with me, my mentality, or playstyle and I would like to ask for help, any tips from anybody would help Thankyou for your time [slayer-jinx-unamused]

As someone who climbed out of Bronze myself, believe it or not, you're probably trying too hard. Strange things happen in Bronze, the worst thing is indecisiveness by far. If your team decides on something GO FOR IT, ping it like MAD, and start it. Don't just pace around it. Pick one thing and focus on that. i heavily suggest picking just dying less for starters.

It would also help if you pick a couple games you're not sure why you lost and re-watch them, focusing on why you did what you did and when (make sure to turn on fog of war).

The best way to get out of bronze 5 is to not try to get out of bronze 5. Try to enjoy each game and it'll just happen.

A legitimate answer.

I checked your match history. Make up your mind on who you want to play. Pick one. Anyone. Urgot, fucking Bard for all I care. Pick one. I might sound a bit crazy. I found Singed and his annoying playstyle fascinating. He is always entertaining to me. I mix it up every once in a while, but I go streaks of playing Singed. Playing one will narrow your knowledge, and if you want a recommendation as to who you should try, I have a small list ready. I will give you the reasoning behind each one. Nasus Simple, direct. You don't have to worry about much other than playing like a bitch and not worrying about anything except for yourself for the first 10m. This will let you learn to farm and control yourself. Nunu His farming is simple, you can look at the minimap constantly. You learn to pay attention to the map. You have two upgrade paths, Q to ruin the enemy jungler, and E for a gank heavy game. Amumu Simple. High damage with Runic alone and you can go tank afterwards. Insane CC to carry your team in teamfights. Veigar Another similar to Nasus, you farm, do damage. Annie I think this one explains itself. I wouldn't recommend support or ADC unless you enjoy the Role, in which I cannot recommend anything other than Braum Since they added autofill, he is a great pick for anyone who doesn't really play support. I think we know how frustrating he is a to play against. To avoid unless you're VERY confident Yasuo Riven Zed Nidalee Rengar Vayne Any questions? Just ask.

Thanks alot for the response, I'll make sure to try and stick to one champion in ranked, but just a few more questions.

How would you carry a feeder? I usually gank his lane and help him as much as possible but it doesn't work.

How do I stop myself from tilting? >.<[slayer-jinx-wink]

L rry1 votes

You don't. Tilt isn't real to be fair, every game is a game. Never use the phrase "Tilted." It seems like a reason to feed and be excused of play poorly. Every game is a new game. You're in B5, the odds of you getting matched with the same person again is insanely low. Don't gank his lane. Play Udyr if you're scared of feeders. I would say watch a couple Trick2G vods, but it'll be more detrimental as you climb. His playstyle is insanely effecive in low elo due to the split pushing and constant pressure along with insane mobility. Tilt is only tilt if you say it is. It's a challenge. I go 2/9/10+ most games. I push lanes when I proxy. I die, lower gold value. I'm a "feeder" but I'm more productive than detrimental to my team.

SuddenAntagonist1 votes

The key to this, is don't. If a solo lane (I hope it's a solo lane) is feeding, ignore them and focus on trying to get the other lanes ahead. If he gets mad, either ignore him, or tell him to play safer. DO NOT, I will repeat this, DO NOT GET INTO A FLAME WAR WITH THEM. If they get toxic, mute them and continue trying to help other lanes. This works more often than it doesn't, but there is a chance that the feeder will start inting instead of just being bad. There's nothing you can do about that. Just play your best.

That's the best advice anyone can give though. PLAY YOUR BEST no matter what is happening. If you're losing, come up with a plan. Group, don't get caught out, focus on single objectives. Rotating in Bronze is Hell. I won't lie to you. Everyone wants to overcommit most of the time. If that's the case, leave them and get something out of it. They might get mad, but the key to carrying a game, is focusing on objectives. Unless they are literally knocking on your Nexus, there is always something you can be doing.

And a rule of thumb, KDA doesn't mean shit once the game is over. If you got every objective, but died 12+ times, and the enemy didn't capitalize on anything but kills, you came out ahead. OBJECTIVES WIN GAMES. I cannot stress that enough. Some people just do not get it. This is not Team Deathmatch in CoD. Focus objectives.

As for stopping tilt? Take a break. Do something that calms you down. Play with good music on. Do everything you can to make yourself not think about WHY you're upset. And for the love of all that is holy, mute people, don't argue with them.

TL;DR: Gank lanes that you know will get ahead, focus objectives, mute toxic people instead of arguing, take a break when it gets rough.

Ravenhale1 votes

Shouldn't he just pick someone capable of taking Towers? A lot of the issues with lower ELO is having teams that don't know when to take objectives, so picking any champion that can't take an objective without help makes winning more difficult.

L rry1 votes

That's not the issue. If you get into these habits with basic champs, it'll transfer over to other champs. Nasus teaches wave control and how to be passive. Nunu teaches map awareness due to how simple he is. Clearing camps requires no mechanics. Annie, straight forward. Amumu? Teamfighting (the reason low elo games are thrown). Then Veigar is just a nuke who scales with farm. The towers come with rotating, in which case, you should just pick it up as you go along. Tell the team what to do sometimes. Push empty lanes. I'd assume that's general knowledge.

I was about to check for this same thing. I always see posts from people struggling to climb and see this.

  1. You're not playing enough games. You should expect it to take you at least 100 games to climb 1 full division (i.e. bronze 5 to silver 5.)

  2. Accept that some games are unwinnable. Always try your hardest but understand that ~40% of the time you're going to lose no matter how good you play. However, if you consistently play better than your peers over a large number of games you will climb. Climbing the ladder is a marathon, not a sprint.

  3. Your stats are decent for bronze, just be sure to always prioritize objectives. Kills and cs don't mean anything if you don't use those advantages to get towers. You can have 30 kills and still lose. You can have 400 cs and still lose. The only way to win is to destroy the nexus and the only way to destroy the nexus is to take towers. Always ask yourself "what's the next objective I can take."

  4. Watch your replays and pretend that you are watching the replay of a close friend who is struggling to get out of bronze and you need to be brutally honest with him about all his mistakes. The only way for you to continually improve is be extremely hard on yourself and always be asking "what could have I done better." Instead of saying "fucking feeding teemo cost me the game" you should be saying "I could have snowballed mid and bot harder. Maybe if I did that we could have won."

  5. Play with people better than you or get a coach. I though I was much better than my fellow bronzies when I first started but after playing with some gold-diamond players on a team I realized how shitty I was and how much I had to improve. Having coaches watch your replays can also be extremely helpful. I'm by no means an expert but I have done some coaching for bronze/silver player so if you need some help let me know.

Note: Lad if you get face-stomp by those diamond lv players you aren't learning shit in all honesty. What the OP can only do is take from this, is in the fact that these diamond lv players were in sync with each other. Teammates their ages are random especially in solo queue. Note: i haven't a seen any person on my team who fed accidentally and went to other lane to help push. Instead he kept going back to his lane expecting 4 players to be near him while he/she ignores pings.

watch streams (take it with a grain of salt, what works in plat+ doesnt always work in gold-) read guides on your champion get into custom games with a good player and practice laning against them. practice last hitting. learn all combos and tips on your champ, as well as match ups you have to look out for play normals until you can always win lane. learn how to rotate. stop building trash, hit tab, and build accordingly. do all previous steps with at least 2 champs per role.

learn the meta and ban appropriately dont tilt, take a break or quit for the day if you lose 2 games in a row. op.gg teammates and dodge if it is an obvious loss. try to coordinate a team comp. not just a group of champs, but an actual comp. dont use chat except to say crucial info, or "gj" ward often, use extra money to get controls. make sure your team does the same. have good objective control and learn when to make calls on drag/ baron learn how to not throw at baron learn how to close games you are leading in, and prolong games you are losing.

these were my steps to get from flex b5 to flex b4. enjoy

Your champion pool is too big, shorten it down a bit and get to know what your faves can do in situations so you don't get rolled over because you don't know the potential damage you can do and soak up

Pick up a support, I see what looks like 0 support champions in your played champions, you don't want to be that guy who gets autofilled support so the game is automatically a 4v5, supporting is a key skill to climbing and you should respect it

Don't play anyone you are not familiar with

I recommand Irelia for top lane. I also recommand watching some videos... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5S7OrJZFyg ( how to freeze a lane, Sorry bad audio quality but a nice guide Overall ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t1LbOZp22g ( Irelia Guide) it tells you pretty much everything you need to know about this champion like how she can be very squishy early on, the main reason why you should never push and just farm early game, her hard/easy matchup, tactic and build etc. https://www.twitch.tv/ireliacarriesu This guy is obviously an irelia main and you can watch him here or on youtube. Side Note, I rotate alot when I take top turret/win lane with this champion.

Another Champion you can play top in low Elo is probably... Tryndamere... Yah. This guy is the pure cancer of splitpushing and in bronze, very few people know how to deal with splitpush. His Ult is the worst nightmare of bronze and he is not that hard to play but can be hard to master ( like every champion in the game ) This season splitpushing is less important than in previous season BUT in bronze it dosnt matter much honestly. Just try to not die and farm... and... KILL TURRET FAST WHENEVER YOU HAVE THE CHANCE.

2 last thing, I couldnt find a video about how to counter build but yeah, You shoud always build your item wisely. If you're vs an AD top and an AD jungler without too much cc, you should consider a ninja tabi early on. Also you should never die... If you die once, play safe ! even if you have to lose some minions, the best thing to do still to not feed and play safe,Especially when I have no idea where their mid laner/jungler are. There is nothing wrong with this strategy.

Thats it for top lane. You could maybe add nautlius and Nasus in there if your team need a heavy CC tank or a tanky champion with damage since they arent heavy mechanical champion and they do their job very well.

Dunno if I helpt here, all I can say is if you really want to improve, Take a break and just watch guides on youtube all over again, trust me it worth your time.

Easiest way to get out of bronze is to cheese. Lvl 2 or 3 kills on laners. Invading and killing junglers at their buffs early game. That kinda stuff.

Quepha1 votes

practice last hitting, farm up some items, and steamroll with safe play.

You practice and get better yourself but unless you some how get platinum level skills playing vs bronze opponents like most people expect for you to in order for you to climb you really only have 10% of the say in a game at most and its mostly luck. even with platinum skills most i can see you having is 20% of say in a game.

What you think ur doing and what your games tell me are very different. There's other things like itemization, late game marco, rotations and communication are big things as well.

If you arn't climbing you aren't trying to improve yourself. There's a ton of videos out there to help you learn every single aspect of the game.

At the end of the day sure, bad players can affect your games, but its up to you to alter your play, and adapt to any and every situation.

It's my first ranked season and I'm in plat 2. I've played a year of normals and bots tho lol.

Just play one or two champs that can carry and one trick them. That's literally all I did to get out of bronze.

Aptest1 votes

Some thoughts.

You are not able to get a good team in bronze 5. not in 1 in 10 games, not 1 in 100 games, not 1 in 1000 games. The good players have all climbed, and you are playing with the bottom of the barrel. There is no such thing as "a good team" in b5, only "better than the other guys who also suck".

That being said, here are a number of issues. Some of them are b5 specific.

1 AFKs. B5, especially deep B5, has a lot of AFKs. a lot of bad ping, a lot of rage quits. You can do a fair bit of climbing just by not being one of the quitters.

2 Gamesplay in B5 has a lot of "group mid" moments. There are a lot of people who think that playing ARAM is how you win. But who actually wins these group mid fights? if you are lucky and your initiator player is better than the other team's, you. otherwise the other team? a lot of times it's just going to be a stalemate. But importantly, the side lanes will be untended.

so who wins? the team who's side lanes are pushing. because, the team with the pushed lanes get to take an objective every time they win a skirmish. And the team with the lanes pushing against them has to reset the wave instead.

So if you make sure the side lanes are in your favor, you can gradually grind some more wins.

3 "whatever lane I play I do good, get fed, farm tons of cs, push my lane out and take first tower, focus objectives, ward, split my advantage to other lanes and carry teamfights" you don't do any of these things, or you don't do them well enough to make this statement. Proof: you're in B5.

I just watched one of my replays, where i was thinking, oh i had a great ult there. i went to that fight and what do i see? a shit ult that would have costed my team the game, if my team was not already fed out of their minds. so, maybe i just think im doing great. in truth im getting lucky?

don't build recommended when the situation calls for certain item types. Like if I see the enemy adc went Ziggs mid laner is a mage and top laner went Mordekaiser. Let's say i'm playing Yasuo mid. I'm going to build item 3155 item 3111. If my laner is way ahead of me, I'm giong to forgo some damage for resistance items. build pure damage if you're very ahead.

I did it at the end of last year =P, now I'm silver 3 1:) Focus on your CS, 60-70 cs at 10 minutes is pretty good (not required, but try to get close) 2:) Either try to stomp your lane or stomp another lane if you cant kill your own 3:) Play champs that scale really good since most bronze games go one for a while Annie Veigar 4:) Focus on playing like 3-4 champs in ranked, 2 for main role/ 2 for off role or something like that 5:) Push tower and objectives, they are worth more than kills. Pushers are usually good at farming if your having trouble Yorick Malzahar 6:) This one is a little weird, play other roles so you can gain perspective on what their win conditions are so you can play around it (takes time) 7:) if you are tilting mute everything and focus on getting items, you will forget about it 8:) play a couple draft pick games before you go into ranked in your main and off role, and religiously stick to your same picks in ranked, there is a time for first time yasuo and this is not it 9:)the longest thing you should be typing in chat is GJ or GG, nothing more than 2 letters
