Normal Games for Low Leveled Players

Can we please add certain limits to who players below level 30 can play with if they're solo? The difference between having a keystone or not is immense, especially when most players are running on crappy T2 runes.

Perhaps make it so that players level 1-7 are queue'd with each other(8 is when you get flash) Level 8-17 (18 is when you get your keystone, but you don't get ignite or smite until level 10) Level 18-29

Numbers can be adjusted, of course. I know this doesn't work for players who are queue'd together because there will obviously be some level differences and some "soft" caps can be used in that case or something, but sometimes you end up in a game with people who are sub level 8 against some people who are 10+. Maybe make it so that it takes into consideration the level of the highest player in the lobby? Not sure. However, sometimes the difference of having someone with Smite which allows a top laner to solo/get neutral objectives, or ignite in mid lane vs no ignite can change a game heavily in one team's favor. Meanwhile keystones are almost like a small "passive" that your champion has and can give you an edge in lane especially since there's a decent amount of mirror matches when most people just play free champions until they purchase their own.

I understand that Riot doesn't want to "overwhelm" new players with too much content, but seriously...if you're not going to give everyone equal summoners/masteries/runes early on, at least make it so that the level difference one can get matched with/against isn't too wide early on.

Low levels are prioritized with other low levels where possible, but mmr is still a thing. Bad level 18+'s are going to be matched with/against lower level folk, since that's the only way for it to really be fair.

Similarly good <18 players are going to get matched with higher level people (in smurf cases, playing against 30's long before level 18 is pretty normal), since their skill level offsets the mastery/runes advantages.

It can be a bit frustrating at first, particularly if the account(s) are fresh to pvp so their mmr hasn't quite adjusted (combined with the fact there aren't that many <20 non-smurf people playing pvp, as genuinely new players tend to lean towards bots), so things can be stompy early on, but eventually mmr's work themselves out and the smurfs don't get matched with new people, and new people get matched with new people and/or people who don't really even utilize their keystone (sometimes due to literally not using it despite being 18+, sometimes just not accounting for it in gameplay).

I can't say I complained at all. Not a smurf but I was playing with level 20+ when I was around 8-12. Then again the bots can be pretty stupid and I hadn't done PVP until I hit 30 (didn't feel like I had been ready for PVP without everything unlocked).

Most new players are playing with a veteran friend. Makes it pretty hard to match the way you want.

Problem is that Riot has to sort for smurfs while at the same time giving the players a decent queue time. The keystone thing is super frustrating though. It's tough to explain to a player too since their response is almost always "then why do they have it if I can't."

I got in a game with a gold level player once when I was less than level 20. No joke.

you should just instantly get all 30 mastery points. there really is no reason for the system in place to exist. same with runes.
