@Meddler or any Dev, are you considering doing something to Riven or toning down Tanks?

Riven has been affected a lot this season, with all the item changes and removals, and tanks being absurd. Her winrate decreased tremendously when brutalizer was removed and how she can't get her 40% CDR quickly anymore. It is harder to get CDR quickly on her, and to get items to get going. With the tanks just obliterating everyone and outdamaging carries even by building tank, what are you guys gonna do? Riven's popularity is decreasing as new patches comes out, and her winrate is dropping pretty low, and you would have to be very experienced with Riven if you want to succeed with her this season, even so, there is a very high chance that even an experienced player will lose just to a tank. I know for a fact you guys want Riven to stay a high skill cap champion, but what is the point when even experienced players get demolished by everything? It would be nice if there were reverts, buffs to Riven, or nerfs to Tanks, but Riven is a very high skill cap champion and doing something to her kit can be abused. It would be nice if you guys could look into it before the next patch comes out. But what exactly will be considered to help Riven and what will you do to Tanks? Will you consider reverting nerfs in the past that Riven received? (Shield Duration, Windslash speed, Ult CD, etc.) I would love to know, as a Riven Main, I would love to see Riven be able to shine again.

I would be shocked if Riot doesn't nerf Grasp soon. Scarizard has already said on multiple occasions that he thinks it's too strong and I'd expect early game nerfs to the mastery at the very least. I would also be very surprised if Sunfire and IBG didn't see some slight cost increases in the near future as well.

I am with you on this. I know that tweaking or buffing her too much can break her, especially if the meta shifts.

...But like, where does the line get drawn? I really feel affronted with the amount of effort I have to put into games working on combos and mechanics and then all the games I have to take learning matchups and then in the end it just really doesn't matter because tanks just offer more everything, Utility, Damage, Peel, the whole shibang.

Then the icing on the cake is like you said, most tanks just build tanky to do damage and frequently end up doing more than Riven herself, especially in the early game with this Grasp nonsense. I get that tanks need to do at least some damage so that they can't just be flat out ignored, but the damage to tankiness ratio is completely bonkers this season.

Riven players have one of the highest average games, but Riot refuses to acknowledge that she is in a weak spot. Most of the people playing Riven have hundreds of games on her every season which is in the top 5 for champs yet her win rate has been trash the entire season ((~45%)) because of all the nerfs, the changes to items/masteries and the changes to league/tanks in general. By Riot's definition of balance Riven is weak though so its silly that they keep just glancing away. They should either buff her or nerf everything else to an equal ground. One is clearly the right answer.

Riven is just a bad champion to pick right now, once the meta shifts to a more squishy meta then she'll be right back where she belongs. We just have to hope that Riot actually does something about the absurdity of Tanks. Tanks are anti-fun when they're too strong.

Jeez you riven mains are so greedy! It's disgusting your champion can't always be the best you need to accept that. Riven has had her time and now new classes will have theirs I'm sick of seeing these greedy riven players on these boards seeing a riven mains comment makes me sicker than seeing a Bernie sanders supporter comment

I'v said this 1000 times and ill say it again. she only needs a small buff to compensate for the removal/rework of certain items. Her ult CD reverted AND/OR her base Q damage buffing by a small amount. This wouldnt make her OP if the meta shifts (which i dont see happening any time soon). If the meta shifted to the point where she is a top pick, she has plenty of counters that are just better suited to the current state of the masteries. Also, i am not a riven player who would like her to be a contested pick. I thought the Edge rework on the PBE some time ago was good, but it just scaled too hard.

All that being said, it isnt clear to me what is making tanks so OP, masteries? Itemization? base damage on abilities? But i feel if the tanky champions were to receive a nerf to their base damage now, it could seriously make them useless when the meta shifts.

I also agree, I think riven is fine where shes at and I'm a riven main! I think the edge system would of been nice on her, but at the same time it would of made her too OP again since she would of been able to eat through tanks. Riven Riven Riven Riven Riven
