Honest-to-goodness question: why are so many people who play this game incapable of simple math?

I don't like coming down on people for this because I, for one, almost failed Science 7 through 11 (Grade 12 Geology, ftw, loved that) so I can't say with a straight face that people don't have struggles in standard subjects.

However, I just keep seeing the same things over and over again. I'm sometimes guilty of a little of it, too, but not anywhere near to this extent. Entire enemy team, including the support who fed their rear off, 3 levels above even the highest person on our team and are all 1, if not 2, items ahead of us with a WAY better teamfight? Let's race them to Baron after they ace us, go in one at a time, then blame the one person who DIDN'T go for our failure!

Meanwhile, they killed Baron before they had even reached the river. I understand time and distance. They...do not. Apparently. Plus, y'know, that whole part where several 5v5s already proved we can't even kill one of them.

I'm not going to bore you with the details of all the widespread examples lack of understanding of math fails people but it's just game after game after game. I am trying REALLY hard not to rage and tell them to go back to Grade 3 so they can learn that 2+2 does NOT equal eleventy-shoe.

I am a FAR cry from a great player that thinks I'm so smart that I don't deserve to play with scrublord xdrizztxx and so on or any of that super-egotistical nonsense.

I just want to hear your perspective on why people fail to grasp simple math. It ruins far too many games.

Where is the math in this? This has nothing to do with math. It's common sense.

People think and act differently under pressure. Lots of people know all the theory and junk, but when they're actually in the scenario it all goes to hell. I'm often like that.

What is your elo? I’m sure that will give you the answer.
