League Is Just So Boring

They made it to where everyone has to choose the one rune style that goes with the champ for maximum quality rather than suiting your playstyle. It was so much more fun playing with your own unique build, unique runes and keystones. Now its, 'Play Aery or youre lacking damage', 'Play Resolve or youre gonna get shit on', 'Build this or youll get out damage'. Its lame and unfun. Back then there were 3 different ways to play my one trick champ Jayce. You could go full ad 16.3 ad lvl 1, or half ad/lethality, or full lethality if you want to risk it. And with keystones it was either thunderlords, speed runner thing, or fervor. Now its, TAKE AERY OR LACK POKE! Its soooooo boring man! Theres nothing unique to it, its literally boring as fuck.

Also the jungle is so broken now and extremely boring as well. You guys removed the smite cast special ability from all the camps and just changed them all to give health. Thats not fun, you removed unique playstyles from the game. And now every jungler doesnt have to worry about not being able to clear creep waves because they almost always have full health.

There just feels like nothing is unique in the game. It feels like the same ol game every game. Nobody is playing their champion their way, the jungle feels lifeless, everything in general is just that, lifeless.

I agree, riot really needs to stop with this "only buff" balancing. Every Champ in the game being able to do more or less 60-80% an hp bar in one combo is unfun. Make jungle camps do some dmg and buff towers maybe even remove runes. Then we can start getting the 70+ useless champs some items and stats to build other than just dmg + hp. Not to mention supports doing the most dmg in the game is a common experience now LOL

I feel you mate. I'm a Rumble main. It was so much more fun to play Rumble, back to season 5 and 6. There weren't many people play Rumble in Season 5 , and I was proud to be one of the early player to discover his incredible strength. I remember crushing every top-laners, even Rumble counter-picks such as Riven or Fiora with my supper aggressive play-style, using +26 AP rune set, and always started with Q.

I was also proud because I thought my play-style was even more effective than the professionals play-style. However, things have changed so much. Even after being terribly nerfed in season 7, I was still able to play Rumble as almost effective as he used to be, but the major change of runes and mastery system in season 8 put an end to my play-style. 20 bonus AP instead of 26, and no magic penetration early game meaning now I have to play safely against some other champions, such as Jayce. The problem of League of Legends now is that it is becoming less of a game, and more of a competitive sport.

Although the changes of runes and mastery is huge, I feel like I was still able to carry the team with Rumble, but that is just before patch 8.4, with the major changes in mage itemization. Now I feel like the best I could do with Rumble is to support other carriers in the team, and no longer be able to carry by myself anymore. The same problem happened to my second favorite champion, Orianna. Before season 6, Orianna was able to one-shot enemy carriers with 3 items, but it's impossible now. No champion, or to be exact, there is no way to make a champion OP now. This is what they called "balance".

So why is the game so "balanced" now? Why does Riot what it to be like this? The answer is simple: money. Instead of profiting from the players all over the world, Riot is now profits more from the professional tournaments, with the huge sponsorship from the traditional sport organizations. The Spring LCS 2018 is the first LCS ever to acquire the professional model of NBA. Millions and millions of dollars are being poured into the pockets of the Riot games developers, and who cares about the experience of the players anymore when your pockets are full of money.

In short, this is the consequence of the game's success. Everything has its limits. One day, when the game is boring enough, and nobody watches the corrupted tournament anymore, the Rioters might think about the good old days, when the game was indeed an amazing experience to the youth.

Man, it really sucks that League has lost its magic for you. Hope you find a less boring game to play since it makes no sense to keep playing a game that bores you so much. Good luck, friend.

As far as removing the different smite abilities, letting smite heal you on all camps was a good change. Junglers with bad sustain could only smite red buff for that extra burst of healing they needed. That, or they were forced to take Ranger's Trailblazer over Blue Smite (the op one at the time). What I don't understand is why the Krugs stun and Gromp poison smite buffs were removed.
