This text box says write your thoughts. Right now my thoughts are on the state of one of the most unique and niche summoners spells, Cleanse. It makes me completely confused as to why a SUMMONER SPELL which you can only have two, is worse in every way than the other single press "cc remove" item Quick Silver sash. Please fix.

This spell certainly has its uses and it's a spell that your enemies are going to disrespect you, a lot. Use it to your advantage. You will learn eventually.

If a summoner spell can be that universally good to the point where its used on every champion except shaco and not taking it will cause you to be flamed, why cant cleanse be amazing since its more niche?
Eqauerian1 votesI disagree, imagine being able to buy flash for 1300g, and the fact that cleanse is a niche summoner doesn't mean its good. I am suggesting they simply bring it to the same level that qss is.

QSS does cost gold and builds into a item far from everyone can use, not even every carry, but it does remove suppression and airborn statues which cleanse does not.

Cleanse also reduces incoming disables by 65% for 3 seconds upon use.

They do not exist anyways as you build QSS and then they are useless just the same.
This kind of binary relationship is garbage and I wish malz at least would be changed because he's worthless without the ult.

Hear me out, what if they buffed cleanse to where it could compete with flash as the ideal escape summoner. Give it everything QSS has, but then add a slight knockback when casted. Would make the summoner a lot more balanced and add diversity to the game.

Iv been saying for atleast the last 3 season they need to just put new summoner spells into the game.
There are over 30 really good ones that have been suggested over the years that would not be overpowered and interesting additions to the game.
Like make a volibear e a summoner with nockback and like 1 second of damage immunity.
or a blink summoner like Leblancs distortion.
There are a ton of good ideas out there for these that would add alot of versatility to the game.

YOU SO BAD2 votesThe only thing it doesnt do is block ww and malz ults and stop airborn status and thats because there are cast animation involved with those that cause major bugs.
So your saying its bad cuz it doesnt work against 2 champions in the game. and like 10 to 15 other abilities?
It also does things qss doesn't like removing ignite.
With tp nerfs alot of laners are now taking ignite and going for kill lanes.
This actually makes cleanse more versatile then barrier an heal in these cases as it also block 95% of cc in the game.

LTK KoRo2 votesYou can also buy a better barrier with Archangels, better heal with Redemption and better Ghost with Righteous Glory. Summoners aren't supposed to be better than items.
Cleanse is actually better than QSS when it comes to removing non-suppression cc just because you don't need to invest said 1300 gold AND an item slot. That's huge. There's a reason why in pro play everyone takes Cleanse vs lissandra instead of buying QSS.

LTK KoRo1 votesNot really, since QSS is an item which stats you usually don't want. The best example is being forced to buy QSS just because you're playing vs Warwick. You don't want MR from this item, you don't want to delay your core build by 1300 gold, but you're forced to.
I'd say that Cleanse seems "weaker" just because it's more niche than any of upper summoners. You don't need CC removal when laning vs a lot of champions, but you always can use %DMG reduction, burst of hp, more damage, fat shield or good back/cross map play.

The E771 votesthe reason it doesn't remove knock ups and supressions is because if it did, EVERYONE would instantly take it if they were vs an urgot, malz, yasuo or any other champ who's ult is a supression or knockup that doesn't do its damage instantly, the reason why malz ult is a supression and lissandra ult is a stun (because they both basically do the same thing) is because lissandra's ult does the full damage instantly, urgot ult gives u a brief window for your team to kill him, if malz ult was a 2 second supression that did all its dmg instantly it would probably be changed toa stun, with qss you have to sink in a decent amount of gold that only gives you a bit of magic resist, which if u want magic resist there are plenty better items, if clense removed urgot or malz ult, they legit wont have an ult coz 100% of people will take clense vs them

When you feel like you're getting hard focused by CC and are the primary dive target for your enemies. I would get a QSS if enemy Malzahar was focusing me in team fights and their Leona and Sejuani would follow up for example. I play mostly support therefore I also like cleanse a lot if they have champs like Seju, Ashe or Lux in their team.
I just wouldn't invest in QSS if enemy Malzahar was the only hard CC on the enemy team. But if you're playing mid lane against Malzahar then it's a bit debatable. Depends who you play (AD assassins might benefit more from edge of night instead of QSS).

Don't assume everyone is a support main. Some people will be laning against malz and in those cases some people will want a QSS. Also, no AD assassin rushes edge of night. Ever. They're much better off sacrificing ignite and being able to build into their usual build path of actual viable items instead of having to wait 10mins before getting a shield that forces them to skip their core items while their ignite is completely useless because they can't even fight malz, nor can they roam without losing multiple waves because of how hard malz can push. Or, they build edge of night in mid-late game and in the process have to concede lane and play passive the entire early game, completely opposite of what you're meant to do as an AD assassin.
Syrile1 votesCleanse, as pointed out, reduces incoming disables effectiveness. Suppression and displacements are not affected because those are balancing factors for certain champions. If you could cleanse them, certain champions (Skarner, Warwick, Malzahar) would not only be weak but utterly useless. And their ultimates all require you to be on the target and Warwick and Malzahar prevent you from moving as well.

It's a must have against a lot of champs and a solid pick against others.
A lot of cases if these champs stun/snare you, you are dead to either them or the jungler coming in which cleanse would be the only thing to save you other than relying on dodging some of them, meanwhile you can't dodge flash liss ult.
