Season 8 ranking System (how it works if I havent been ranked since s5)
Does RIOT look at your previous rank season only, or will it use my season 5 rank in part to determine where I am placed (i.e. cant get above my rank from s5). Thanks!

DodoIsMySenpai1 votesAfter your 10 ranked games solo/duo(or flex) qeue, your division is choosen by your win/lose ratio and your kda.(kill deads assists) at least that's what i heard from a friend
InTheory1 votesKDA is not calculated and the win-ratio only indirect. A bronze 5 can still end up Bronze 5 after 10 wins because their MMR was so low when starting these placements that 10 wins alone were not enough to climb to Bronze 4. If your MMR stayed even when going against plats and golds you can still end up remaining in high gold MMR.
InTheory1 votesWhen you play your placement matches your last available MMR will be chosen to calculate your matchups. Your new rank will be based on where your MMR will be after you finished thse 10 games.
