Autofill in season 9 - not a rant I promise!

Hi!

With the new system for ranked in season 9... I was thinking, will autofill still be a thing? If I understand it correctly you will have ranks for individual positions, top,jg,mid,.. and with that autofill will be even more annoying than it is now. Right now I don't care about autofill, bc usually you get autofilled into support position and I am / was a support main. But when the new system goes live if you get autofilled you will play placements and eventually rank up position you don't want to play and care about.

And with that I think this will lead to even more trolls picking random stuff bc they don't care about that particular rank. And if I am not wrong you loose LP from all your ranks only when you dodge the game. If you just loose a game it will only affect the rank of the role you played.

My suggestion would be that autofill could activate only after you don't find a game after like... 3 or 5 minutes? Or something like that, bc I am not looking forward playing more ranked games than I have to to get into gold.

auto fill is a huge problem. people get into a lobby with a role they dont want and if no one swaps with them they can int the game with no punishment since they arent losing significant lp for their main position. there is no reason to try and win a game when autofilled because no matter what you are gaining/losing 3 lp for your main role. I just got an autofilled jg who didnt say anything in pre game chat, no ask to swap no nothing. locks in yi and ints the game to the point where the enemy jax jg was 8/1/8 at 20 mins. That was probably his first game as jg, but his teammates still lose the full 20 lp while he gets off with nothing while also being the main factor that lost the game. If your teammate is an autofill with a significantly lower rank then their other roles, the entire team should lose less lp. Theres no reason why other players should suffer more.

tbh autofill isn't usually a problem but they should make it so that people with LPQ won't be as likely to get autofilled

Autofill should be less of a problem if I'm understanding it right.

First, if you suck at a role and get autofilled to it, you'll be matched with players that are at that skill level. Should make your worst games more competitive.

Second, if you do constantly troll in these off roles, it actually hurts your main roles.
