Tank Items Are Too Strong On Base Scalers! (HOW TO FIX)

Through instances of Tank Ekko and the sorts, you will simply nerf him (or atleast his base stats) in order for people to play Ekko in a "healthy" manner again. But since tank Ekko I have seen these tank builds on similar people, like fizz, Kennen, and Teemo to almost the same degree of success. With tank items this strong they are really good on anyone and everyone without suitable damage items to deal with it. However my fix isn't to nerf them but simply give them more of an identity.

My fix is that you should add a system into the game that makes you sacrifice a stat for another stat. For instance, give sun fire a minor buff to its passive but add an additional start that says " - 5% Attack damage and Ability power" or to deal with the base stats specifically "-5% damage entirely." Or simply give us back the old last whisperer, and make BORK apply before Armour. That works too.

And to put the strength of my opinion into perspective, this is the first time that i have ever posted on the boards. Let me know what you think in the comments. I'm interested to see if i'm the only one feeling this way.

The issue with these tank items is they aren't actually designed for what tanks need. Instead of accentuating a tank's strengths (high durability and disruption) these problem items buff their damage. On a tank, it makes them playable as an alternative to being super indestructible, but it also means that a non tank can abuse these higher than average defensive stat sticks while still getting a large boost to their DPS and/or burst.

Yes there is a problem with itemization, but saying it is only the fault of items misses the issue that the champs abusing these items have high enough base damages to still function at a high level of play without their intended stat reliance (be it stacking AD or AP). In order to fix these issues, Riot needs to nerf base damage amounts for all damage dealers, and then nerf any and all damage portions on any tank items as well. It may slow the game down a tiny bit, but it would cut back power creep significantly as well.
