How's Nidalee?

As title.

I tried picking up Nidalee some weeks back, planning to take her into ranked. Then came the recent patch which hit her hard. In normals, I find I do still do "well enough" with her, but I'm worried about the prospect of taking her into ranked.

She's sitting at a ~44% winrate. On the other hand, a handful of higher elo players seem to consider her a strong pick.

So what's the scoop? Are the stats the whole story here? Are some of these players simply a bit outdated on their information (as happens from time to time)? Or is there something more to Nidalee that makes her playable in some circumstances?
