Dear Riot Games and Ricklessabandon (About the Ahri Changes in PBE)

Hello everyone! first time writing in the boards!

I'm a Diamond Mid laner. Been playing LoL since the end of season 2. I'm not a one-trick, I play a lot of mid champions(meta and non-meta champions)

The reason that I'm writing this is because I read the new changes for Ahri and it doesn't make sense at all...

The link to the latest changes is above. I'm so sad to the point that I came to believe that the people who are working on Ahri right now does NOT know the difference between a melee champ and a range champ. A passive like that should NOT be given to a burst mage/Assassin champion like Ahri cuz its straight up USELESS and does not go well with her champion thematic. However, it would work well with melee champions who like dueling and want to stay in fights for so long. Here is how Ahri SHOULD work. Ahri is a burst mage/assassin champion, she should always try to find picks OR find the right opportunity to go in AND out in team fights while trying to burst someone down with her combo. But SURELY NOT staying in the fight to use that stupid new passive to tank 9% DMG for basic attacks CUZ SHE IS NEITHER A DUELER NOR A TANK ( AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! )

Why would ANYONE give a passive that reduce basic attack dmg by 9% to a champion like Ahri??? Taking that passive would mean reducing her overall power in other areas, like the base dmg reduction on her ult, or that useless W that have the shttiest ratio in the whole game... AND what tilts me more is that Riot is giving us the old no fun, no counter play, brain dead gameplay for LEBLANC, BUT AHRI CANT HAVE MORE DMG even though Ahri is a SKILLSHOT based champion, everyone should be rewarded for landing their skill shots, BUT CURRENT AHRI lands everything on Mr. ADC and he/she does not die or even get hurt cuz of the sht ratios Ahri have.

Not saying that everything they did is bad. the W changes on HOW it works are good but it is not enough. it still lacks DMG, and feels too clunky to use when CSing, especially under turrets. and FINALLY we get rewarded for hitting our skill shots... (E buff shoulda been there ages ago... ty riot)

I hope that at least some of the Rioters who really care about the health of this game and its champions to give a serious look on the state of League of Legends. The game is dying thanks to the boring ADC meta(even high elo adc mains says that their role is EASY AND BROKEN) or the champions that win lane without any effort being taken(insert any champion name that only use point-click to win, aka Akali, Vlad, Kassadin, Fizz, and any ADC that's not Draven) it's really boring seeing champions like that. They are so easy, they deals so much DMG, and they require 0 skill or brain cell to use... and here is a proof, https://streamerclips.com/twitch/imaqtpie/CuriousConfidentCardPeteZaroll

Also Riot Ricklessabandon should just stop working on Ahri. With all due respect to him, this guy doesn't seem to take his job seriously when it comes to balancing Ahri. Ahri's changes have been take out of the PBE for so many times and with little to no changes OR changes that doesn't make sense like the one I wrote above OR the one where we have CD reduction whenever we use Ahri's ult dash. This guy doesn't really care and he only replies to people who write nice things about those lazy, out of theme changes. I'm not saying that he should reply to negative/rude comments, BUT HE SHOULD listen to criticism if he really wants to improve and move forward.

I hope people who care not only for Ahri, but for League of Legends as a whole, to just look at the current state of OP champs... brain dead champs aren't fun and we shouldn't be forced to play them because they are OP.

Thank you for reading!!! [sg-ahri-2] [sg-kiko]

TL;DR 1- Change the new passive from 20% MS to 30% MS or so 2- Buff the W a bit more, from 35% ratio to 40%. ALSO please add this to how it should work "Auto Attacking a minion fires the necessary number of fox fire to kill it" If 2 shots are enough to kill, then just fire 2, and the 3rd one should wait for the next basic attack OR till the time runs out OR when a champ gets hit by a charm. (this is hard to explain tbh, but I hope that I made my point clear) 3- Change the person who works on Ahri (Ricklessabandon) this guy clearly doesn't take his job seriously(I stated above why) 4- For the love of god, stop making brain dead champions. Its not fun playing as them OR against them cuz they take no skill. AKA Leblanc reverts... 5- Lastly, just cuz someone is complaining about a certain champion/item about it being broken, that doesn't mean its true. Everything is broken in low elo :)

You can trust Rickless on this! I mean look at how well he did with Nidalee! Making people who play her in lane literally quit the game. Ahri is in good hands guys!

I mean, Irelia has a shield-killer passive. So why not. Ahri's net damage is actually increasing at all stages due to the damage amp alone, not counting the AP ratio increases, despite the base damage nerf. Giving Ahri a niche as a hit and run assassin who excels at assassinating marksmen/autoattack heavy champions is fine. It's not like she can sit in a fight and tank unless you actually build her as a tank. It just helps prevent you from getting exploded in a crit or two.

As an Ahri player since her release, the part I feel most questionable is the movement speed. She doesn't need it. And in addition to everything she's getting, though unlike current MS boost it requires interacting with the enemy, it's a bit excessive and should be removed in my opinion. Everything else in the changes, I like.

If the movespeed boost is exchanged for higher damage ratios, the changes would be wonderful in my opinion. Would also be true if the damage reduction was traded, either way, as long as she gets more damage than live Ahri I'm happy.

Side note: It IS the PBE after all, and changes are all subject to change. She might get an entirely different passive from this by the time she reaches live.

The entire Ahri Main Reddit is begging Rickless on their knees to remove that movement speed. Sadly, he does not listen at all. It appears he only reacts to praise. Every single factor what was praised or demanded by the community was squeezed into her. Including the MS, what was demanded by a small fraction of players, who felt Ahri without her MS feels clunky. Sadly that little group of players might have never touched any other champion aside Ahri, considering most champions do not have a movement speed boost at all and do not need it.

[sg-ahri-3] For the love of god. Take away that MS and give her back the base damage stats on her W and E or anything.

I'd say the current state of Ahri on the PBE isn't the best compared to pre-rework, and how I miss playing Ahri during the DFG Ahri days, but after playing it a bit, combined with the rune changes, it's certainly an improvement over live Ahri, and I'm not going to complain about it. As for the MS boost, it's basically unnoticeable in half of the times you proc it anyway.

Admittedly, I do like having the MS in her kit, as it can be what makes the difference between surviving a fight by a hair or dying. Having it more gated towards being aggressive does make it much less obnoxious for both sides, and like I said, half the time you won't even notice it, unlike live, and the 20% MS boost eats up a lot less power budget than the live one.

Which, by the way, the live MS boost at its lowest is around a 25% MS boost on most builds, and at its highest, a 90% MS boost, on a much lower cooldown than her passive, and movement speed boosts are much more available overall given the addition of Predator, which a number of immobile midlaners use. So there's that.

Also, this post you replied to is a pretty old post, from a previous iteration of her passive, when she had % damage reduction from basic attacks. Another thing to note, is that it IS the PBE, so what gets shipped to live may or may not be different in numbers, if this is the kit that gets shipped.

I think that new passive is an April Fool's joke.

It better be... :(

...I thought Riot removed Deathfire grasp -because- of the 20% extra damage for so-and-so seconds being too much and unhealthy? Now its okay?

ILord IDragon1 votes

are you FOR REAL comparing a point click item(Death fire grasp's active) to a skill shot(Ahri's E) ?

The JigSAW1 votes

Not in the slightest. I just find it interesting so many things we were told are "unhealthy" and were removed are finding ways to come back, or even to become worse. Take Conqueror keystone for example, true damage on any Precision champ that wants it. Spirit of the Elder Lizard was removed because it dealt true damage, remember?

I'm not a fan of any point and click items unless its used against the most broken and cheap champions. Even then, balancing them would be preferable.

For the record, I agree 100% with your complaints and think Riot has no clue about what a real assassin is vs an actual burst damage champion. The lack of knowledge is why the game balance and matchmaking are in such tremendously poor shape. Here's hoping Ahri doesn't get ruined!

The issue was more that there were a few champions that could use it to straight up one shot people with absolutely 0 counterplay. For example, Syndra used to build it, Q twice, then DFG+Ult the enemy carry and they were just dead. Same thing used to happen with Veigar, DFG+Ult put out a ridiculous amount of damage. Damage Amp itself isn't inherently a problem, but some champions abused the hell out of it. Hope this made sense.

Why would ANYONE give a passive that reduce basic attack dmg by 9% to a champion like Ahri???

To help her laning against Fizz I'd imagine.

At this point I think riot is just tossing stuff on the wall and sees what sticks.

ILord IDragon1 votes

Help her lanning against Fizz? A good Ahri player should never lose to a Fizz in 1v1...

Linna Excel1 votes

Not every support main, jungle second is a good Ahri player. ;)

From what I remember, it is a skill based matchup where the first player to die basically loses lane.

I personally love all the changes.\

Let's not ignore the 20 percent increased movement speeds the passive gives. That is going to be really good, especially for curving Orb of Deception without blowing ult charges. That 9 percent may not seem like much, but when you're diving into the enemy team to secure that carry kill, it could make all the difference.

about what you said on rick,i said it since the first day he's just bad at reworking champions

he may be good at something else, but he totally doesn't know how to rework a champion kit and doesn't even put effort in doing it (ie. last patch it took 2+ weeks for a lissandra's passive)

i just can't find any sense in his changes...

W still have a delay:

0.4 sec where the ability does nothing, then 0.6 sec where engages only champions hit by AAs or charm, then like on live

why those 0.4 sec delay? we already have the second so why the first is needed?

just reduce it to 0 or 0.1 and the second to 0.5 or 0.4

her passive as you said makes no sense on her and it isn't going to reduce her safeness compared to her live version : now you need to hit them,so just throw a Q while you are running away,if you hit you get the MS if they dodge they are disengaging you for sidestepping it

her E will make her telegraphed and binary, especially in high elo where people will get ready for dodging her E as soon as you try to engage them since now you HAVE to start with it,or you are losing your damage output and you wont be able to kill them

what if her E deals 20% of the damage that she dealth to her target and apply a 20% damage amp? (basically making the ability amplify both the damage you did before and the damage you are going to deal, nothing has changed in terms of damage output but now you can land her E whenever you want)

or just removing the charm amp and making successive foxfires (her W) dealing their full damage if the target is charmed (removing the successive foxfires damage reduction, making both her E and W more interesting)

her ult is getting a better scaling BUT a damage nerf you'll need more AP than you usually have at the level you are maxing this ability for compensating the base damage lost (ie. lvl 11 you'd need more than 200 AP for compensate the base damage lost) so it's a nerf, plus he's nerfing the ult CD of one of the most ult reliant champion of this game
