Since ranked will reset after this season, and borders next season will update as you progress as opposed to being based on previous season performance, what point is there to playing ranked the rest of this season?

The best you can do (and actually what my friends and I have been doing for the pasts 3 months) is stop playing this game. Not because it's a bad game, but because it's managed by jerks. Riot loosing 10% of their fanbase, watch the free stuff and actual real improvement into the ranking/matchmaking system
Kai Guy1 votesSame reasons you have had for playing ranked from day 1. To see how far up the ladder you can get before you get stuck, then see if you can improve and make it up higher then that. Teammates come and go, the constant is you. Ranked should be a challenge for yourself to see how much impact you can make consistently in matches.
If you only play ranked for free skins or boarders. Just quit when your ahead and play normal the rest of the time with the occasional match to prevent decay.

That’s pretty much the pinnacle of hitting a higher elo right there. Nothing comes close to flexing your epeen on a forum full of lower elo players. Gives you a sense of importance in an otherwise dull life
