I think it would be a pretty good deal for new players that wants to try out champion before they buy them permanently.

What, you mean you don't like being forced to purchase a champion in order to try them out for yourself while you're only allowed to have a grand total of 3 non-recharging refunds over the course of your entire League lifetime?

Color me shocked.

Riot's business model relies on players buying champs they don't fully understand. If players could play a champion in practice tool, realize they actually hate them, and decide not to buy them, Riot loses out on a sale. I know it sucks, but that's what you get out of a free to play game.

League has been one of, if not the biggest, games every year for about a decade now and has generated billions of dollars in revenue.

This poor smol indie company can bear doing at least what HotS does w/ try-before-buy.

Didn't hots enter maintenance mode?

Meaning it was not generating enough profit to justify them further developing the game?

All of Blizzard's games are in maintenance mode.

While I do agree with this u have to consider the fact that you have PBE videos showing the champion skills, you have the champion spotlight you have reveals and i don't know what else to show YOU the player what this champion does and how he does it so you really don't run into the excuse of "buying the champion than realizing u hate it".

Also, most players who have old accounts (That happend to me on my main before it was permabanned) have enough blue essence to simply buy the champion at will and it wouldn't make a difference.

I will say however that the bigger issue is how hard it is to get blue essence compared to the old IP.

Sometimes you can like how a champ looks and the idea of the champ as well as watching others play it, but then not enjoy actually playing it.

I believe all the champions are free on the PBE. This could be a way to try before you buy.
