There is a misused piece of the scoreboard that you probably aren't aware of..
What I'm talking about is this
This Question Mark that appears alongside the slots of enemies that you can't see has been there since they updated the scoreboard with the ability to ping various summoners and rearrange the order of players. With the ability added to ping summoners and even the champion portraits to show that they are alive or respawning soon, I feel like Riot missed a really good opportunity to add a proper MIA ping. Seeing as this only applies to champions that are out of vision, I feel like this is a prime opportunity to allow the ability to show that specific champions are missing.
The only way currently to make your team aware that an enemy is missing from your vision is to either do the classic "MIA" ping or ping their portrait in the scoreboard to let everyone know that they are indeed, 'Alive'. This current method isn't very specific and I feel it's completely ineffective comparatively to what it could be.
Using the champions from the screenshot above I want to create an example.
Using either the MIA ping or the champion portrait ping you get these messages in chat:
- (Maokai) signals that enemies are missing or
- (Warwick) - Alive
Compare this to:
- (Maokai) signals that (Warwick) is missing
Just an idea I had to add a more specific MIA ping. What do you think?
