I was playing support and I expected at the end I should have the best vision score. I check and the enemy support was better.
My Vision Stats: Vision Score 66, Wards placed 40, Wards destroyed 8, control wards purchased 1.
The enemy support (Zyra): Vision Score 72, Wards placed 33, Ward destroyed 5, control wards purchased 9.
So how did she have a better vision score? Does Zyra's plant buds count towards wards?
Anything that gives vision counts as wards. So Teemo shrooms, Maokai Saplings, Zyra buds, etc. I'm not sure how they count points and they will probably never reveal that.
Support main who takes pride in a good vision score. Reached 150 mark. I swear I hit 180 once, but I can't remember for sure. In my last game as support, I placed 44 wards and got a score of 91.
I am a madman with wards. I'll place them down all the god damn time, even when I already have 3 up. Every stage of the game, I make sure I have wards in important spots, like bushes where the enemy is likely to gank, the bush in the middle of the river, I'll even share the love in the mid lane bushes once I start moving up there.
I've also formed the habit of always carrying a control ward, buying new ones and placing them down in more relevant spots. I tend to do this until I put down one at the Baron pit, but will still sometimes carry one anyway. And ALWAYs get the Oracle by 9, assuming you're smart enough to have a sightstone at this point (which most people aren't).
And just try and learn where you should and shouldn't put wards in the first place.
