Was wondering how to counter zed now, not just in pick/ban phase but in game as well. Without being able to remove death mark I'm unsure as how to play against him without dying instantly to an ulti paired with a few smashed buttons and an auto or two.

I would play ap champs and rush a zhonyas. Or play some one like pantheon who has easy cc.
if you play ADC, you stay with team and dont go anywhere alone.
if you are ap midlaner, you build zonyaz.
Zed ult is strong but its predictable, when zed ult, zed will show up behind the champion, so if you time your cc well u can get away, also exaust is a good summoner spell against him.

Zhonyas got destroyed, hard. Guardian Angel good choice...once u can afford to buy it and still have an item or two or three to do anything other than survive being nuked, qss much cheaper =(
Ban him.
Also if you're mid always take exhaust
thats counter build not counter play zed never had counter play
