Ranked matches still counting if you have an afk player

This is my first forum post, and I put it under gameplay and balance because I didn't know where it should go.I don't think ranked matches should effect LP if there are players on either team that are afk for the majority of the match.A 4v5 or 3v5 isn't a fair test of skill, and shouldn't count towards our rank.Riot needs to change this if they want to make the best game that they can make.

well, wouldnt that be easy to be abused? like one guy leaves and prevent the other 4 from losing, ofc i dont think people would do it for free. but, still could trade something , and i bet lot of people would love to pay RP so someone DC and they get a "loss prevented" , or lp lose reduction.

But would THAT be worth the leave buster putting you in low priority ques?

How much RP would several lost hours of play time be worth? IF you ever actually get them from your client?

You might see it a little to begin with, but word would soon spread that it's NOT worth it.

This is a non issue by simply adding an automatic ban on someone who quits twice in a certain amount of time. When you know you will be banned for some days you will think twice before going afk.

You are speaking the absolute truth and talking from experience, this has been an issue since the beginning of LoL. If Riot hasn't fixed it yet it's because they don't want to. The fix is so easy that it would take half an hour of coding to implement.

Now, if you wonder why they don't want to fix it, that's a much harder question. The best explanation I can come up with is because the number of people going afk is so high that they would hurt their sales too much. When something goes to hurt their income they won't do anything about it despite what they write or what they make the community believe.

Justice and common sense dictates banning people who go afk repeatedly but these are probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions of players. Of these millions, some of them buy Riot Points and contribute to Keep Riot in business. So much that Riot doesn't want to piss them off and make them stop buying Riot Points.

On the other hand, there are players like me that refuse to buy RPs until Riot shows some kind of real action against toxic behavior and not just smoke and long posts in the forums to make people believe they are "working hard" to fix the issues.

Sad truth that money makes the world go round! :P

Still, It feels like there has to be a middle ground in there. Like bans that apply only to ranked, or automatic loss of extra LP for going AFK.

Something to quell the anguish of honest players that just want a good clean fight.

I think that the issue of leaving to prevent your team from losing LP would be solved by banning you from receiving gifts if you left a game,to prevent people from giving each other Rp to leave games

If this is brought to the attention of riot, they will really have no choice but to do it,as they don't want to look bad in the eyes of the public.Bjorny, I think you're right about why they haven't done this yet,but they can't say that in a public announcement. That would be bad for business. They would most likely use the exploitation excuse, but we could then point out the easy fix for that. They would have to do it at that point,or else everyone would know something else was going on.I think that if this post gets enough attention, things could change to the way they should be.

Nothing like this will be implemented because it's impossible to prevent abuse of a system like this. In reality, AFKs are so few and far between that in 100 matches, there will only be a small handful that have AFKs, and it would affect you very little.

For those of you bashing Riot, stop blaming money. Riot's not doing this because it would hurt gameplay, not their wallet.

These conversations have been going on for years...this is nothing new. I have yet to see a good idea of how to prevent this...and I've seen a lot.

Really? In the last 10 ranked matches I played,7 of them had at least one player go afk.In one match there were 2 of them.Even if I'm just getting unlucky,it really is a big problem and should be fixed.

A VAST majority of players do not have this big of a problem. Maybe it's something you're doing/saying.
