Because the mastery system currently gives few rewards, I think that Riot should give you a summoner icon for that champion. It would cost Riot little money to implement and would give a lot of incentive to level up your champions and play the game more.

Maybe you could get a summoner profile banner for capping mastery on a champion once they release the 6/7th tiers of champ mastery.
They've said in other threads they have a lot of plans they are working on for the Mastery System... they just need to iron out the rewards, so they will probably do something like this for future levels of the system (as we know there's already assets for level 6 & 7)

I'd be okay with this. It givea extra incentive to level your champions as well as giving another way for dedicated mains to show off their pride.
For mastery level 6 or 7, thatd be cool.

I was thinking of maybe items like Dota2, but I really like the models I have and don't feel like I want to change them. The ranks were kinda cool when they came out. Now, they feel like time invested though and that's not good.
To a certain extent, the tanks are a good thing. They've help me focus on playing certain champs more often, thus getting more familiar and better with those champs. However, going forward ... I don't know. I'm not really interested in grinding out rewards for certain champs.
What makes LoL so much fun is that it's a game you want to play because the game is fun. The goal is to get better and win, not grind out rewards for time invested like MMOs force you to do.
It's not on the list of priorities because they're busy working on stuff that will make them money. Sadly champion mastery does not have anything to offer to Riot, except a happy community and satisfaction of knowing they did something right. But that doesn't really matter to them.
I have 13 champions at level 5, I really would like it if Riot would do this. But if they are it's not coming for a while for reasons stated above.
and maybe if you have over 10000 points with the champ they give you a random skin for the champ?? I am asking for too much am i. A man can dream....
