A Better Way to Check MMR?
I was curious on how else you could check your MMR the op.gg method isn't accurate or so I've been told. Any other ways?

Nope. Riot has completely hidden their official numbers from everything. Any website that claims to show an MMR is simply making an estimate based on their own algorithms. It's probably fine to use those sites to track general progression over time, and that's about it. If those sites say you're constantly playing at 150 MMR higher than what you had been a month prior, then your actual MMR has likely gone up a bit in the past month.
You can't know your MMR, but you can get a rough idea of how it compares to what it 'should' be for your rank based on your LP gains/losses, and a rough idea of what it means by looking at the sorts of teammates you're getting, as you're all roughly the same mmr.
Like Zielmann said, there is no accurate source for your MMR like that, they all work with their own algorithms based on limited information.
While you can't get more than a rough estimation from 3rd party sites, the best way to see how you're doing is to look at your own LP gains. If you are gaining and losing around 20 LP consistently your MMR is average, if you gain more and lose less you're above average and the inverse is true. If you gain close to 30 LP you may be eligibile for skipping divisions.
