Last season I only won 3/10 placement games and got Bronze 2. This season, after placing in Silver 4 at the end of season 6, I win 5 placement matches... But I get placed in Bronze 3? I get that you don't get placed in the same division you ended in last season but... really?

Placement matches are not more important than any other matches. Everybody drops by a few divisions (unless your MMR is very high), even if you win a lot of placement matches. Your condition is not abnormal.

You think you are mad? Try being G5 and dropping to B1. I'm about to tear through some of the lower levels and piss off other bronze players.

This system is perfectly fine, I always tell players that if they are good and deserve to get higher they will get higher. Now, I have played some ranked games and I am placed myself.

I ended up in G1. I thought that I will start somewhere between bronze 1 to silver 3. But I got placed in silver 1 because of my high MMR last season. took me 8 games to get to gold again. I get like 28-30 LP per win and I am yet to see how much I lose, but if I had to guess it will be something like 13-15 LP loss, judging from last season experience.

No, I am not saying this because I want to show up, really. What I mean by this is that, this system helps you get higher, you even get one free win if you fail to win promos and if you play well enought to get higher, you sure will get higher, just don't give up when you see your first rank. We all started here, trust me, hell I wasn't even bronze in season1 because you could end up even lower! So don't worry, just play and have fun and you will climb, trust me. Good luck!

I played ranked for the last week of S6 for the lulz, went 2W|8L and placed Bronze 1. I couldn't carry hard enough and 3 wards on the map wasn't enough. I see all of my friends placing B5 and I find it amusing. I'm not scared to climb up out of B5 because I am numb to the shenanigans of the Wood elo. All jokes aside, I do not look forward to the grind. I did the same thing in S4 and placed Silver 4 after going 6W|4L.

Let me guess, season 6 was your first ranked season? New accounts that have never played ranked before start off with their MMR in the silver 5/silver 4 range. So if you win 5 out of 10 placements your first season you'll get placed around silver 5. You only won 3 out of 10 so bronze 2 makes sense.

When the ranked reset occurs everyone who played ranked the previous season gets dropped roughly one full division (i.e. silver 4 to bronze 4.) The reason this happens is that the highest you can get placed out of provisionals is plat 1. This means that all the diamond, master and challenger players get placed into plat. This cause all the plat players to get bumped down to gold, all the gold players bumped down to silver, and all the silver players get bumped down to bronze. It is completely normal to drop a full division so quit complaining.

What's important is that it's extremely easy to climb at the beginning of the season because you get tons of LP for a win and only lose a little LP when you lose. Right now I'm getting 27 LP for a win and only losing 14 LP for a loss. I've only played 19 games and I've already climbed from silver 4 to silver 1.

Just keep playing and you'll get to the rank you belong. The biggest thing that holds people back is they don't play enough ranked games and they don't focus on playing the champions that they have the highest win rates with.
