They are all similar enough that they will usually always overshadow eachother, so the only reason to play one over another is usually because that one does that job specifically better than other characters in the class.

I think the main issue is that every game its meta to have a marksman and depending on the meta some will do meta .. right now it was the guinsoo idk if it still is though ? but lets say it is Varus and kog are outshining everyone with the on hit builds .... until it gets nerfed and something else comes back lets say lethaility does again and then lucian and MF are best ... Its always a circle the top ADCs get playe dthen nerfed pushed to teh bottom then the next lot comes along .. nerfed then pushed to the bottom until we get back to the start...
IMO we need to have the supports change .... yeh we have lulu whio can buff atatck speed and do well against divers etc but when it comes down to it we really just have enchanters which support with heal and shields then we have the tanks who either focus on enaging or disenaging
