Riot Allows Bots to Swarm Treeline

I personally am dumbfounded, as I sit behind a 5 minute penalty window (which may well be 13 soon) after dodging a game with two insta-locked, uncommunicative, ghost and heal champions. How many times am I going to have to this tonight, Riot? For how many more weeks? Are you going to address this severe compromise of your system that causes strife for so many players?

Sure, right after they finish making donuts out of unicorn horns and fairy tears.

It's not a "compromise to their system". It's not hard to make an account. It's also not hard to create a script to pick a champ, run mid, and die. Since the commands are just packets of data there's no inherent way to determine whether they were generated from a script or from someone hitting the keyboard.

About the only way to discourage bots is to add some sort of human verification step before entering a game, like a captcha. Even then, someone could enter the captcha and still let the bot run. There's no simple way to have an algorithmic detection of scripts vs. human players.

Riot is doing something about it, check this out http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/features/upcoming-changes-refer-friend

Riot thinks that most people make bots to make a heap of RP and IP, so they are changing it so bots can't make that anymore.

Though this won't stop the kiddies who get banned then make a bot account so they don't have to grind to level 30 again.

It would seem to me that if they really cared they could easily figure out who are bots. 0-18 or worse every match would tend to give it away. Besides isn't intentional feeding against the rules too? Bots are definitely guilty of that.
