Gnar Hop

It's daylight clear that his Hop (E) is built (intentionally or not) so that he can still be hit by anything shot on the starting place before he lands.

Now I'd like to ask: Is it intended?

  • If yes, why? Isn't it supposed to be a tool to both closing/opening a gap & a tool to avoid skillshots etc?
  • If not, can we fix that please? Jumping to from spot X to spot Y just to be CCed/Damaged/Killed anyway is halving the effectiveness of said skill.

i'm a little confused about what you're saying. If it's skillshots hitting him from the place he jumps from, like say if ezreal q'd the place he hopped from and still dealt damage that's weird. If you're talking about a targeted ability like taric stun that makes sense.

It's the Ez case: Gnar is in point X, Ez shoots Q to X ---> Gnar jumps to point Y, he is more than halfway away from point X to point Y, Ez Q hits point X and deals damage to Gnar whose figure/model/character/whatever is outside Ez Q's hitbox.

The thing is that in Gnar case the discrepancy between animation and actual position is much more evident. This might be the reason ppl noticed it with Gnar really soon.

No way in hell this is intended. That skill is already on a mercilessly high cool down, there is no reason Gnar players need to be gluttons for punishment when Fizz players have virtually the same skill and are untargetable on a much lower CD. Thank you for bringing this up. I have noticed this several times and you can imagine my distress when I manage to time the perfect jump to avoid a skillshot or bad position, only to find it doesn't matter at all because skills can still hit you from where you jumped, no matter where you are. This. Does. Not. Make. Sense. From any perspective.

Many dashes work that way. Renekton's E and (I think) tristanas w for example. Not sure if it is intentional on gnar

My last game I was able to jump OVER leona's hook thing. It definitely would have hit me if I didn't jump on her head and it would have hit me if I was on the same trajectory but on the ground, but she didn't even move and I wasn't slowed or anything. Thus if something is hitting you from your starting spot then it is likely not intended.
