What happends ?

So my plan was to play ranked solo / duo when the season starts to have a better MMR . Today a friend invited me to play and he selected solo/duo(i rlly didn't see and ik was my bad) and we lost ofc. Is now my MMR lower ? Will i get lower division when the season starts ? Because i heard that this reset is trash. Some friends were gold 2 and got placed in bronze 1 , some in silver 4...
