Ranked Ladder Feels Terrible

I've played the game for a long time but I've basically accepted that I'm going to hover silver, I'm not here to complain about not being Plat.

Right now, I'm Silver 5, and climbing is harder than it has ever been in the last 3-4 seasons. It's incredibly demoralizing and tilting, victories mean very little, and losses are so tremendous that it actually feels like dumping 2-3 hours right into the trash can.

I know how the Elo works; the game isn't afraid to tell me that "I'm being shielded from demotion". But I can't help but feel that the system itself is deeply flawed, and that the explanation that I am somehow ranked higher than my actual elo is ridiculous, in my opinion. I am not playing against players who are ahead of me in any sense, and often do well in even the games that I lose. In my last 10 games, I've lost 4 of them. My 5 most recent games consist of 1 loss and 4 wins.

I gained ~70 LP for 4 wins in a row, and promptly lost most of it for the most recent loss, even though I ended the game at 10/8 with 13k gold.

Everyone has always told me that "if you just win games, you'll climb out", but I have been winning games, I've been playing better, I've doing better overall in the games that I lose, and it's becoming incredibly frustrating. Why am I still 'in the red' in Riot's book? Why am I still only gaining ~15 LP for a well earned victory but losing ~30 for a loss?

What is there to acknowledge and work on when the system so clearly does not want to work with me? I certainly wasn't doing so well some time ago, but it honestly looks like I've been doing consistently better in the past few weeks, and it seems like the game is completely unresponsive to that, and still insists that I'm being matched with lower elo players. If I were to win enough games to get promoted, is that how the 'LP restriction' is lifted? How could I achieve that without just winning upwards of 8-9 games in a row without faltering once, something made even harder in the Bronze-Silver level because of the completely unpredictable players?

This just feels so archaic. It feels like we're just working off of the same system from 2009 and there just hasn't been any improvement. Maybe I'm alone on that, but I'm curious as to what someone at a higher level of play would have to say about this, and if they've ever experienced the 'shielded' status.

Your MMR is Bronze 2, that's why ranked feels bad to you. if you raise your mmr to Silver 4-5ish, you will gain 22+/win and lose 14 or less
