Mastery 6 & 7

Why do i get less than 1000 blue essence per level up. And it cost 3250 to get to rank 6 and 3900 to get to rank 7, before i only need 500 essence to up each rank, how was this calculated? i have a large pool of essence but i feel like it will be quickly depleted at this rate.
