What is the current state of Fiddlesticks?

Hi, just a quick question. Been trying out Fiddlesticks some lately, and have rarely been meeting success at all. Mostly, the issue I have is that whenever I drain a champion, they almost always have some sort of way to stop the drain, are just too tanky for it to matter, or can burst through my healing. Clearing jungle is HORRIBLE without blue buff early on, and he's just so damn squishy. Only thing I've been able to successfully pull off are some good ults, but only after I have Zhonyas do they not end in me dying.

Is Fiddlesticks weak right now due to the large amount of champs with cc or low base stats or something like that - or am I just not good enough with him? Curious to see people's thoughts about him. First post on the forums, ever, since I'd love to get good with Fiddle - I love his design aesthetically and his kit just seems like it'd be so much fun once I figure out how to use it correctly.
