EUNE Gold 5 - Can't even play at Level 10 in EUW - What am I doing wrong?

Hi I started LOL in EUNE region in season 7 in April, I'm pretty much all good in this game and have an above average performance according to all statistics like OP.GG, mobalytics and all gg sites. I played placements and went Silver 4, started ranked a week before Season 7 ended and ended up at Silver 1 promos, almost missed Gold 5 by losing promos 3 times.

4 days back I started playing in EUW region, the first few games were all good because obviously I know I got placed with new people and I had a very cruel advantage but as soon as I got to level 10, don't know what's going wrong but these people are rekting me too bad. What could be the reason?

  • Is this something to do with good ping? (I have 200 ms ping both EUW and EUNE)
  • Am I underestimating them too much?
  • There is too much gap between EUNE and EUW players and I'm a bad player?
  • I'm being placed with smurfs?
  • I'm not getting used to locked runes?

Someone help me as I'm starting to question my abilities and I feel like even though it's almost a year I'm still bronze. WHAT IS GOING ON!!!

League has a system to detect smurfers and you might be matched up with other that is smurfing before lvl 30.

  1. 200 ping?? How can you even play on that? That is definitely a problem
  2. Since they might be smurfing as well and you expect new players, yeah.
  3. The gap doesn't really appear until you get high diamond (Smurfing on several accounts on both servers so can confirm)

  5. It shouldn't really change too much, they won't change your skills. It was a much larger problem with the old rune system, not being able to play jungle for example.

Just keep lvl-ing but I do want to say that smurfing really takes a hit on your gamesense. If you smurf in bronze and you just have to go in all the time and take kills, ez game, it will result worse gamesense in your main rank. I had a very clownfiesta gamesense when I smurfed and then went back to my own rank and had the same mentality, didn't work.

Alright, I guess that explains why I'm getting too rekt. Otherwise I was going to think EUW players are born with 200 IQ or something.
