Ward War

HI all

in short, the idea is to give supports a bit of Exp. for clearing a ward ! This could be done by a change in the utilitytree . May u ask why ? Because, clearing wards is a important & difficult tactical task :

it takes time

it´s risky

often u have to leave lane and miss lane exp

u have to invest quite a lot of gold to do it

if u dont do it, ur team will be doomed

...

Often i see Supps a bit underleveled( mostly 2 levels ), especially mid and late game. This is because they spent a lot of time between the lanes ,trying to gain vision advantage. Sometimes they get picked of, which makes things even worse for them.

I belive they should get a bit more rewards for their tasks !

cheers

this could actually work if they put the mastery very far down in the utility tree.

Maybe replace/work it into Inspiration?

Cause let's face it, the XP from that mastery really is crap.

I agree with the idea of making a mastery for it. At the least it would give support players the option to take it or ignore it completely.

I like it being in the tree so non-sup's won't take it for the "mah xp"

As long as it was deep in the tree, it'd be good. Otherwise, the exp would be crap to prevent everyone from taking it, defeating the purpose of it.

Completely agree with this.

Good Idea

Yeah.. I noticed in most of my games recently... My team will be like level 17-15, and then I'm only level 13-14

I think this would be a decent change, and it would also help those nice junglers who go about dewarding lanes and their jungles, so both supports and junglers would benefit

Not to be a minority, but I dislike this idea as it strays from strategy, and here's why...

  1. There's already a utility for exp bonus if a lower level than adc
  2. Placing/destroying wards between waves is a strategic way to go about it, ensuring you don't lose exp
  3. If going about it too well, the support has too much exp, just silly
  4. Would stray away from prior points, which strays away from true strategy, something Riot has been doing way too often with the removal of DFG, constant nerfs, buffing of the one click assassin Zed and other non-mana champs by nerfing those who do use mana, and so on. The game is becoming less strategy more silly behavior, which is causing a lot of players to lose interest. The stacking smite even caused this, yet Riot kept the idea. Makes going to base and helping lanes much less harmful to you overall strategy. This would just add to the 'let's remove critical thinking and reward the new players' outlook of the game. I don't want more of this please ):

  1. Ancient Coin exists, but there's still a mastery for gold gain on minion death.
  2. Fair enough, but "strategic diversity" isn't a bad thing either.
  3. Support never has enough xp. Support should ideally be two or three levels ahead of everyone else. That more ADCs don't realize this and selfishly hog all the minions is why they lose so many games. Silly, silly ADCs. (Seriously, though, support never has enough xp.)
  4. Actually rewards strategy, because warding/counterwarding/killing wards is a strategic thing.

I agree with what you're saying, but there's one issue here. You seem to be suggesting the support should take CS, that the ADC "hogs all the minions"

There's where I have an issue. As a support/mid main, you should never take CS unless you're proc'ing Relic Shield. The entire point of support role is that "You don't need CS, your partner does. Make sure your partner gets it, feed your partner and take the game"

If you and your ADC fight over CS, you don't stand a chance.

Alas, I am become yet another victim of Poe's Law. I was being funny, and completely agree (except in the edge case that my ADC is a dick or useless. Then it becomes either a trolling game or trying to feed myself harder than the ADC feeds the enemy team. But those aren't the norm.)

Oh... lol. I didn't know you were joking either. Ah, internet. WHY has NOBODY invented sarcasm tags for forum posts and chat?! Riot, get on this!

B1naryB0t1 votes

I've always used italics for sarcasm, that's normally enough to make it clear.

ChrisB51 votes

Yea.. sometimes I read italics as emphasis, so it's very possible I would be one of those people lol.

  1. Yes that's something different, and was added because supports just didn't get any gold, and felt useless. Same for trinkets and the pressure to ward by themselves.
  2. Fair enough, goes both ways I suppose.
  3. How do you figure? You feel cs should be shared between support and ADC? I thrive as support with no gold w/ my gold item and masteries. Why should support be a higher level? I've never heard this before, so curious.
  4. I feel like the game is losing it's competitive edge for rewarding users for doing something they should already be doing on their own is my point I suppose. They tend to be dumbing down the game. Personally, I dislike, for example, Rek tunnels give gold when destroyed. I'm not a rek player btw before anyone rages. Same goes for heimer turrets (I hate you heimer). While we're at it, why don't we give zzrot spawnlings a gold drop (which they don't have btw).

But hey, we all have our own view on the game. I'm sure my outlook varies from several. Take a look at all the downvotes and lack of responses. Shows how dumbed down this community is. I don't bandwagon. You don't either. You're explaining why you disagree, even partially agreed to one of my points with a counter and WHY. Thank you, btw. I love when members would rather respond than bandwagon downvote because I disagree (: I know I'll never agree with everyone, but it's nice to know why others don't agree with /me/.

but what if the adc or someone other kills the ward while you're at it couldn't it like, that for each ward that gets killed the support gets exp?

DoFr1 votes

this actually will help both support and junglers alike, i fully approve of them.

also give more/full exp to the person who used the red lens (in case someone got the last hit on the ward)
