Idea: Weighted Draft

Some players choose draft simply so that they don't have to fight over roles. Others are willing to wait an hour as long as they get to play top. Some are okay with filling but want to play something other than support once in a while. Others will play any role except ADC.

Instead of struggling to come up with a single solution, why not let players seed the matchmaking algorithm with values that suit them?

Players can be given 100 points (initially in "fill") and distribute them among the 5 roles as they see fit. These points assign weights to their choices. If they put all their points into one role, they will never be assigned any other role but may have to deal with long wait times. If they evenly distribute their points among all roles except the one they don't want they can avoid that role. Players can experiment to find what they consider a reasonable trade-off between wait times and getting the roles they want.

This can replace the old draft queue, or augment it where the draft queue is simply a more user friendly interface of the same system that gives fixed values for the player's first and second pick.
