Soraka's 4 Nerfs

As opposed to other champions who were also made too strong due to masteries. Why didn't she get anything in return?

Large increase on mana cost on a double resource ability. (W)
Keystone that she primarily used nerfed
Q range decrease
Ult lost its grievous wound removal (which probably wont make much of a difference)

While other champions who were made too strong from masteries were finely tuned so not to over nerf. Brand had his W mana cost increased and Karthus had his slow nerfed. Yasuo and trynd weren't even touched. Nidalee was randomly buffed. Bard has gotten his bi-monthly power creep.

Why the knee jerk reaction to Soraka?

I actually miss old raka. Brainless to play but fun to just shut down the enemy apc with constant e spamming

There's no way to balance her, she needs a rework. As soon as her numbers are good enough she is oppressive.

They could lower her damage, CC duration and slow amount. Her niche isnt any of those so they can be toned down while not destroying her identity.

Dude they just toned down a bunch of things that aren't her niche. Her identity isn't destroyed. Reread the patch notes then never make another post again. Thanks

No actually, there are a lot of ways to balance her. In fact, the person who designed her rework specifically made it so that she has "a lot of levers that could be adjusted".

She dominates the lane. Very little counter play to her with a skill floor similar to sona. Trading and poking doesnt work against her, you gotta all in her rather than the carry.

You have until lvl 6 to get a decent enough lead to snowball or she will just wreck you.

Because she's rocking something like a 60% win rate?

Look. I main her. I have far, far too many games as her. She's too powerful, due mostly to a three-way split between the gold income item change, the windspeaker mastery, and the 1.5% missing mana regen mastery. Instead of nerfing her or those changes to reduce her support power, they opted to reduce her safety.

I don't like it, because the secondary consequence is that she's completely useless unless literally glued to a teammate, but it's a way to keep her as a healer without rendering the shiny new "I'm supposed to win poke trades" champions irrelevant.
