Just an idea, but how about every team could have one Veto over a champ, that cant be banned, before banning phase, so every team could strategically plan one player, playing his favourite champ, And not like now, spoiling the fun.

I think a better option would be that while bans are going out, everyone can hover a champion to show what they prefer; only their team can see it, and multiple people can select it since it's not actually picking, but it can still get banned.

While your teammate still might ban what you want, it'd be an easier way to show what champion you are thinking of using, and the team can create a team comp without even saying a word!

Another way to make that better is to have a button to show what role you prefer. If you have higher pick order you still have the final say, but you'd be able to see everyone's preference. Just something to enable better communication without even typing.

To clarify on the OP, I think you should still be able to ban anything you want for any reason. Most people main something, and will demand their champion be the one on the ban-prevention; this would honestly just cause unnecessary infighting.

or you could type what you would prefer since it's easier and doesn't need to implement random unnecessary things

I guess you've never seen people that don't say a single word? Because that's pretty much about 1 person per game. Or they just take forever to decide. Or the bans start happening before they can type it out.

Is it necessary? Not really. Is it far more efficient? Definitely. There is no reason to not make it better if you can. "It works" is a good way to never move forward.

or you could... oh i don't know... learn to play with more than one champion and not expect you will be able to use that champion every game?
