A Counter Argument To Every TFT Bash Post

I've reached my limits with all of the posts saying that TFT is just the worst game of the century. Mostly because every single one makes the exact same points, that either make absolutely no sense, or are just completely incorrect. So, I'm writing this as a response to all of those. First, let's give some background about myself. Hi, I'm Comfy. I've played league since late season 7, and I've been playing strategy games for as long as I can remember. And I've been a consistently high ranking player in a couple different auto chess games. With that, I feel I'm pretty qualified to speak truthfully about this topic.

"RIOT WASN'T PREPARED AND ALL THE SERVERS WENT DOWN SO NOBODY COULD PLAY IT REEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" Yes, they did. I was in the exact same position. Were the queue times long? Yes. Were they annoying? Yes. Did they fix the issue within a few hours? Once again, yes. And most importantly, did they apologize? Yes. There are countless games out there that has had issues similar to this, and yet those companies don't get an ounce of criticism for it. Why should Riot be any different?

"The game isn't even fun, it's the worst thing I have ever played." Ok, cool. Great. I disagree, but hey, it's your opinion. So why are you complaining? Just don't play the game. Let's put this in any other context, shall we? 'Hey man, what's wrong?' 'I hate black beans.' 'Ok, and?' 'They put black beans in my burrito.' 'So why did you order it?' 'Because it's new.' 'But why did you order it if you don't like black beans?' 'Idk man, I'm gonna give this place 1 star on yelp for making a black bean burrito.' It makes absolutely no sense. If you don't like it, go play any other game mode.

"The person who gets lucky is the one who wins, if you're super good you still can't win every game." Well, yeah. That's how strategy games work. A skilled player can still get in the top 4-3 every game though, I can tell you. But the same thing applies in every battle royale. It doesn't matter how good at the game you are, you cannot win every single game of a battle royale. Sure, you can get far into the game every time, but you won't get first 100% of your games. Luck plays a role, but it isn't everything. And if you feel like you get last place because you're unlucky every single game, you're wrong. I'm sorry, that just means that you're not good at the game. Which hey, is totally fine, but it isn't that you're unlucky.

"RIOT MADE MORE LOOT BOXES SO THEY COULD MAKE MORE MONEY!" Oh boy, here we go again. 'Hey man wanna go to burrito central today? Just, don't order the black bean one.' 'No they added more menu items. And they're expensive.' If you don't like them, don't buy them. I don't understand how people just don't get that concept. It's a little worrying.

And finally, the capstone argument: "This is just Crash 2.0." Clash 2018, also known as 'Crash', was a catastrophic failure. Not a single person is denying that. However, is the game running now? Yes, and it's running just fine. And the general consensus of the game mode is that the game is fun, stable, and fairly well balanced. Of course, I'm speaking about the NA servers when I say all of this. I'm not too sure what has been happening on other servers. But either way, the mode is running, and all problems on the server were resolved within 6 hours. That's extremely fast for what it was.

The only point I will say arguing against Riot is that yes, they were not as prepared as they could have been. The launch of the game could have been a bit smoother. But TFT so far has been nothing but a massive success as a game mode. And I'm tired of everybody saying that this isn't the case, and then giving horrible reasoning to support their claim. Fine post, but there is one main thing i hardly disagree with

The problem stems from how riot treaded cosmetics before. When Riot added lootboxes some people were pissed off, because those mechanics could be pushed on to the wrong side of "kinder eggs".

Then prestige skins were put out, and they pissed people too, because many think they are just a simple cash grab without much effort behind them.

But, here's the thing: almost all skins can be bought without RNG involved in the process, even if, in the case of most prestige skins, it takes a lot of work.

But this? Cosmetics that can be aquired only from boxes? It goes against what Riot has been doing for the past 10 years. That's why people are pissed off about them, and that's why your "don't like it, don't buy it" argument doesn't fly in this community.

I agree with all of this, however i still agree the game is a bit too RNG heavy atm. Its fine for RNG and luck to be part of it, but losing because the game refuses to give you pairs or items and everyone else gets what they need is simply not fun. Yeah, you wont win every game, but i should feel like i had a fair shake every game.

These are things that can be adjusted, and are adjusted in these types of games.

I'm not too sure what has been happening on other servers

On EUW it was pretty fine tbh, we could play till the end, but it was a bit shit that T1 was Diamond+ and our Team ended up vs D1-Master most of the matches.

The thing that I'm complaining about is that they denied Nexus Blitz and made that mode instead . My opinion is that they had to release Nexus Blitz permanently first, then make this mode . Because Nexus Blitz was a nice mode to chill in. And the idea that Riot just face Dota2 with that mode makes it disgusting. That's my problem. Anything else you said is right.
