Are these calculations correct? Please correct me if I am wrong

This is all just about Armor pen and all that jazz just wanted to display calculations and see if I was correct. Let's get into it.

So we have max lethality : Duskblade = 15 Lethality Ghostblade = 15 Lethality Edge of Night = 15 Lethality Serrated Dirk = 10 Lethality Runes = 24 Lethality Masteries = 6 Lethality

Total Lethality = 85 Lethality

We also have Black Cleaver and Lord Dom's

Cleaver = 30% Armor Reduction (obviously after its fully charged) *disclaimer, for the sake of my sanity I will say cleaver is fully charged 100% of the time and always at 30% armor reduction.

Lord Dom's= 45% Bonus armor penetration

Meaning. We have 30% Armor reduction (Percent) 45% Bonus Armor Penetration (Percent) 85 Lethality

The way armor pen works obviously everyone knows is.

  1. Armor reduction flat
  2. Armor reduction percentage
  3. Armor penetration percentage
  4. Lethality

We are facing a 300 armor target for this example or test with a base armor = 80 and bonus armor = 220 (Also again cleaver will automatically be fully charged up for this example)

Now, let us go in the order of Armor pen.

  1. Armor reduction flat. We have 0 so NEXT.
  2. Armor reduction percentage. (Cleaver) We have 30% Armor reduction.

Calculate. Cleaver effects base as well as bonus. so the algorithm will be. (base armor x 0.70) + (bonus armor x 0.70) = Amount of armor after reduction.

(80 x 0.70) (220 x 0.70) =56 =154

56 + 154 = 210 armor.

So we have 210 Armor as of right now. (after reduction from cleaver)

Base armor = 56 Bonus armor = 154

Back to the order of armor pen

  1. Armor penetration percentage (Lord dom's) We have 45% Armor Penetration percentage.

However with lord dom's it only effects Bonus Armor. (It will only affect our targets bonus armor of 154)

Calculate. Lord dom's will only affect bonus. so the algorithm will be. (bonus armor x 0.55) = Amount of bonus armor after Penetration percentage.

(154 x 0.55) =84.7 = 85 Bonus armor

Now our target has Bonus armor = 85 Base armor = 56 Total armor = 141

Last but not least lethality.

  1. Lethality Total lethality = 85.

141 - 85 = 56 Armor.

Targets armor after full cleaver charge up is. 56 Armor from 300.

Is this correct?

And yes I do know this means no boots.

Who cares, it means no boots, no AS, and no lifesteal. This build will lose.

item 3006 item 3814 item 3142 item 3147 item 3071 item 3036 item 2140 ten less lethality in favor of a better build. Late game, boots can be replaced by item 3153 (which will be SO MUCH better when the 45AD buff goes live).

That's a horrible build...

What about it on Graves however? he doesn't need Attack speed and with pure AD graves auto's would do a shit ton of damage maybe even replace the dirk with zerk's? cause his auto's would still absolutely end tanks cause of his passive plus build

Graves should always build at least one lifesteal... Also he won't apply cleaver quickly anyway, since his AAs are slow and abilities don't multihit much.

... its an AD caster build. You know, the people who have always been meant to utilize Penetration? Casters?

And also other things...

and? i built lethality on j4 which was 10 from runes and mastery so in the end i had like 65 and i really didnt notice my self killing people any faster. To be honest i felt like i was killing people a lot slower then if i had just built straight ad

and?

.... If the guys calculations are correct, then it means the AD just nullified 100% of a tanks armor gold. and essentially reduced their level by at least 5.

i get what he is saying but for 1 you have to attack someone 5 times to fully stack black cleaver... your better off playing j4 maxing q black cleaver lord dom and bam your at like what 90% armor reduction

Everything seems in order to me. I can't find anything wrong with it and it is pretty much the same as what is on the lol wiki (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Lethality#Lethality) under trivia, but that one hasn't been updated for the 5 less Lethality on Youmuu's Ghostblade or the lowering of max Precision mastery from 8.5 to 6 Lethality. You accounted for both so it seems everything works. You could account for even more armor pen if start to bring in champion abilities (Wukong's Crushing Blow lowers by another 30%, Darius Apprehend lowers by 25%).

Ok thank you I was mainly confused on the cleaver part as i was unsure about how it applied to base as well as bonus armor

Probably.

The build has a shit early game and scales slowly, however. Lethality runes are a hell of a lot weaker than flat AD, and cs'ing will be horrible. Also no health, armor, magic resist, or CDR in runes, meaning 30% CDR as opposed to the now extremely common 40%.

Also you lose an item slot for the Dirk.

Also, this build is not supposed to be used against tanks and should probably just lose the LDR unless it's about MF R. Jhin's fourth shot (he can use his passive execute damage), or Varus's poke. With most casters, they're builds won't be able to provide the sustained DPS to kill a level 18 full build tank before they die first (although I have seen Rengar's be surprisingly tanky with just BC). However, they'll be dissintegrating offtanks with a full combo and annihilate squishies.

It's also very squishy itself, with 6 damage items.
