Why am I being matched against 2 level 30 platinum V players, when I am only level 18?

Nobody on our team was even level 30 our highest was one person at level 23. Everybody else on our team was under level 20. So yeah the game was a stomp, and I just want to know why matchmaking would allow this. If a level 30 queues with a low level, the other team should have at least the same number of level 30's of similar rank.

Lol. That's awful. It does that to reduce queue times.

Clearly you're a smurf playing against other smurfs.

Except for when your not, your just the poor sucker (like me) who ends up in games with somebody's lvl 30 friend on the other team starting the game with a 500 gold advantage and completely dominating / destroying.

Oh wait, riot dont care and this is just a waste of words since I'll give up playing after taking week long breaks between games and hoping to come back to matchmaking that works as advertised

I have the same problem. Majority of my games have been against level 30's and I just think that is ridiculous. It makes the game unfair and unbalanced whey you have to go against someone with full runes and masteries. I have to say, this problem can be easily addressed, but it doesn't seem like Riot cares all too much about the low level community. Maybe in their minds, the level 30's are supposed to give us feedback after kicking our asses and calling us noobs. Yet every game I have been in, when facing against enemy level 30's, both teams become highly toxic. This problem is making it less enjoyable to play games. I'd like to suggest that Riot could cap the low level games by putting them in brackets. Say like 1 through 10, 10 through 20, something like that. As I am typing this, a friend of mine says that making brackets and capping the leveling would make it harder to get into the game, but I don't think it would. There are millions of players in League of Legends. Thousands play on servers each day. I'm sure that about 70% or 80% of those players are level 30, and the other 30% to 20% are low levels or smurf accounts. That is still a lot of players out of the whole League community. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this matter.
