How does a break from League of Legends affect my mmr?

Hi people.

I was ranked Platinum 2-3 in april but took a break from lol and i now started playing again. During this time i got demoted to Gold 1 75 Lp for not playing any ranked at all. My question is, how did my mmr change during this time? I it still as high as Plat 2-3, all the way down in Gold 1 or is it somewhere in between? Also, can i expect to gain more Lp from ranked wins than what i will loose from my losses? Feels kind of boring to grind all the way up again if i get same Lp from wins and losses. Hopefully someone knows about this:)

(I played 1 ranked game and checked op.gg efter to check my mmr but i dont know if you can trust that with barely any games played recently)

Thanks!

Your MMR did not change. You should gain LP very quickly since you were probably plat MMR before. The only thing that affects MMR is wins and losses. Dodging and decaying does NOT affect MMR.

That's an excellent question, I'd be really interested to see the answer. I know OP.GG is typically accurate with their MMR measurements, at least more accurate than any other site I've seen, but it would be interesting to see if your MMR decays along with your rank.

Looking at the game you just played it appears it did, as you were in with all gold 2 - plat 5 players, so unless your MMR was low in Plat 2-3, then it does appear to have decayed.
