Twisted Fate *Anyone having a non grusome "Fate" on him lately?*

I'm a bit rusty as I just returned to league. I have been playing since the last month of beta pre-season 1. Twisted Fate traditionally has been a close favorite of mine. Can anyone tell me if Twisted Fate is in any way shape or form worthy of bringing in a gold/plat ranked game? He seems a little more then underpowered, and also seems easily countered...not just countered but SHIT ON countered by more then a few champions, which doesn't seem to happen on any other champ I play especially mid mages. Just wondering if any of you higher ranked Elo players could steer me towards him or away from him, before I throw him in the don't play competitive list. I'm trying to pick a top 10 list of mid/sup to practice with for the next few months, trying to regain that skill level I used to have.

He's... tricky. He isn't a soloQ champ. He requires good coordination with your team.

In lane, you gotta play passively, and wait for them to slip up. Wait for your enemy to try and last hit a minion, then yellow card him if possible. Q, then back away. You'll need to be a hit and run play style. Never over-commit

Twisted fate can do well only if you roam effectively He is NOT strong at skirmishing or 1v1, his power comes from Short CD targeted CC for your team to capitalize from. I consider him a support mage that goes mid similar to Lulu. If you get a couple assists or a kill from your ultimate, your team and you have a good enough lead to grab objectives.
