Banner of Command ruined Twisted Treeline gameplay

As we all know there has been constant debate regarding the balancing of Banner of Command. Upon release of its changes there had been relentless abuse of the item and players demanded a hotfix to nerf it. This hotfix may have negated some of the issue but it is still very much prevalent in Twisted Treeline.

In Twisted Treeline it becomes a very oppressive item when paired with Vilemaw buff, "Crest of Crushing Wrath". This buff empowers minions to gain bonus attack damage, attack speed, attack range, armor, and magic resist. This STACKS with banner of command. With two less players you are forced into a two options. Smite + Targon execute. This requires you to get into range of it which is risky because thats over 750 units away and they will likely kill you. You could additonally run minion dematerializer but it forces you into a niche tree and has six available uses.

I believe there are a few ways to resolve this issue that are very simple.

  1. Do not allow Vilemaw's buff, "Crest of Crushing Wrath", to stack with Banner of Command.
  2. Remove the item Banner of Command in Twisted Treeline, just like the ARAM treatment.
  3. Revert Banner of Command on Twisted Treeline.
  4. Heavily nerf Banner of Command. Whether its the damage reduction or the health increase.
  5. Nerf vilemaw range increase.

Again, those are my proposals to fix the issue. I am a Master tier player in Twisted Treeline. Though that does not mean much to most, but I do have some knowledge and experience behind my argument. It is a commonly held opinion amongst the top elo players as well.

My friends and I are trying our hands at TT ranked right now, and I’m not gonna lie, it’s been pretty brutal. Is it normal for unranked players to get paired up against Platinum players right off the get-go? Also, yeah, Vilemaw’s buff alone is super strong. I can see how the two together could be utter cancer.

I think your MMR just started relatively high. Usually you see MMR discrepancies getting matched with diamond 5+ players since the queue times are far longer. Basically at that elo its harder to find a match at non peak hours since theres fewer high ranks on so it forces you into lower elo matches.

Regardless, I'm both glad and sorry you can see my point about the banner issue/banner+vilemaw issue.

Ive been playing a lot of 3's lately across multiple accounts of different MMR ranks and honestly, either match making is broken or there just isnt much of one in TT. Every match i get players ranging from Diamond 1 to bronze , while im on my BRONZE account. In no world should my bronze 2 account face someone in their master promos... even if the mmr is high as all hell.
