The Surrender Button

Dear Riot,

When I go into a league game, like many, I want to have a good time. The perfect game in my mind is that one that lasts about 40 minutes, with each team gaining the upper hand at different points in the game. There are team-fights, sieges, and general outplays. This ideal game would end in a gigantic team fight where the few survivors have a sliver of health and take the nexus. The feeling after this game is like none other, like your time was well spent, and in the chat whether you are the loser or the winner you're describing outplays with your former enemies and smiling at your screen. Whether I am winning or losing, the Surrender Button is the bane of the perfect game. I absolutely agree that if It is a 4v5 there isn't reasonable to force the remaining 4 players to complete the game, so surrender is completely viable. However, recently I have seen an increase in use of this Surrender Button. It seems like every game I play ends in one team surrendering, the other team just barely having advantage over the first. It really impacts the experience of the game, at least for me personally, in a negative way. I would absolutely rather spend my time losing a game and trying to outplay the other team in a ridiculous way than begin searching for another game after the first ends in a surrender at 20. While the perfect game rarely occurs, I think that only allowing a surrender after a player on your team has left the game would increase the possibility of finding it. This could cause other problems, like an increase in players leaving, but it is just an idea. I think it would be nice to see less surrenders in league, and more outplays from the 1-8 Lee Sin that just wont stop trying to inSec someone into his nexus.

Sincerely, That one guy in the 4-1 surrender vote.

Edit: TLDR; It would be cool if less games ended with a surrender.

i especially don't like the surrender button on ranked 4-5 or not (i get its extremely hard to pull off, but it can be done), there is literally nothing to be gained by surrendering, while you stand to gain everything by continuing

I absolutely agree. Ive seen several videos on youtube that give tips on how to get better, and one of the ones that applies here is that you shouldn't be afraid of losing. In that loss if you keep trying you are bound to learn from it and come out a better player. Surrendering takes away that chance of learning from your failures.

Today my team surrendered at 25:00, the score was 13-17 and we were down 2k gold....to say the least i was confused.

It's like people don't even want to try if they don't stomp lane and can 1v3 anyone on their team.
