@Riot: Rumble's ult cooldown is not where you should be looking to buff Rumble

Hi. I'm an old Rumble main playing since 2012. Former Diamond Rumble(mid and top) and 500th best Rumble at some point.

So I just recently came across the recent PBE patch notes and Rumble's mentioning caught my eye...only to get a little disappointed.

Rumble

The Equalizer (R) cooldown lowered to 110/100/90 from 120/110/100

It's great you guys are reconsidering the ultimate cooldown nerf you guys gave Rumble a while back due to the lower level of impact he now has(trust me I know), but his Equalizer is not where you should be looking to give Rumble back his power.

What made you guys nerf his Ult. CD in the first place? A lot of damage that results in gamechanging plays, but at a "not low enough" cooldown that makes it difficult for Rumbles to lose with 'too' consistent Equalizers. Ok, even as a Rumble main I completely understand this, even if I don't agree that it's too empowering, but I do know his ultimate can be a little too ridiculous at times.

But the nerf only made everyone realize that Rumble's kit is a little weak for someone meant to carry as a melee AP Fighter/Mage. It was something I've often said about Rumble since 2013 although my threads usually get buried underneath everything else. I actually agreed with you guys at Riot nerfing his ultimate cooldown just so you would understand that Rumble is essentially near useless in most situations without his ult, especially against a lot of match-ups this season. I really love playing Rumble since I started in 2012, but please, don't just make his primary focus on his Equalizer only. Nerf the cooldown all you want, but do take a look at the fact that he needs more tools/utility and a more reliable kit in the late game(even though he's not really meant to be a late game champion. I understand his niche. I really do. His niche shouldn't limit him to only playing in his niche to be effective however.

The harpoon changes I really enjoyed; It gave Rumble a lot more windows of opportunities to make some damage and subsequently, great plays via more readily available skillshots. I know some Rumble mains will disagree with me but it was honestly for the best overall. This is when I was glad you guys finally understand his skills needed more 'oomph' and more opportunity to shine. (Please reconsider the Shield buffs that were on the pbe on some point too?) I'd like to also point out his Harpoons are bugged at the moment since most of the time I find myself unable to fire my last harpoon when I enter Overheat with my first Harpoon. It is extremely inconsistent so please do fix it if you read this.

Maybe more defensive capabilities on W(shield) on Rumble against his more tough fights where it's near impossible for him to do anything without his Equalizer? Maybe more utility on his Harpoons rather than just slow(%HP damage on dangerzoned E)? Maybe more to his Dangerzone enhancements than just more damage and/or slows?

I'm not asking to make him kick everyone out of top lane, I just want a fighting chance again that rewards me for my mastery and knowledge on Rumble without having to rely on my ultimate all the goddamn time.

Rumble Make Rumble more skill-reliant on basic abilities and less overly Ultimate and Cooldown reliant. He needs more options for someone who is supposedly so complicated and hard to master.

P.S. Do not buff his Q as it is perfectly fine where it is.

According to Riot, there are currently changes to his Q being looked into :S

I'd like to invite you to join the /r/RumbleMains subreddit as we're quite a few Rumble fans and your thoughts and insights could be interesting to discuss.

I agree that in the past, he did well because he had access to his Ult more often, and that without it he can seem a little lackluster, but don't you think its more the evolution of the champions, items and masteries around him that has made him more difficult or less plausible as a pick?

I feel like the most important aspect of the changes planned for 6.8 will be the nerf to Corrupting Potion, and even more importantly, the change of Grasp of the Undying. These all together (not even taking into consideration the upcoming Mage Rework will make a huge difference to Rumble 's position in the meta, and I honestly can't wait to see how the future shapes.

Could I also possile ask you to check out my Rumble Guide as I feel like your level of expertise and mastery might help me improve my guide and better help Summoners wanting to test-drive TRISTY on the rift.

Funny you say that since I already subscribed and made some posts there already but thanks for the welcome anyway lol. Yeah his Q doing full damage to minions wasn't a buff I was expecting anytime soon but I honestly thought it would have been something completely different and unneeded since his Q already does a lot of damage to champions(it's just Rumble is too squishy and lacks utility to keep on applying Q damage without dying or getting low on HP). I'm all for this buff actually because CS is still a pain for Rumble.

Yeah I'll definitely take a look at the guide and give some feedback whenever I get the chance.
