We need to find out why dominion is not really interesting to anyone to play. Its used for game mode in customs and that's pretty much it. The game has become more of a joke with it there. So Why do we need to keep this here?
Im not saying replace it. Im just saying.. make it better then what it is. Dominion is not fun. Majority of the time is just spawn camping and waiting.
How is Dominion similar to other maps? It has no laning phase, for one thing (unless you're bot), it's mostly about jungle play, ganks, and backcaps, with the occasional point capping (usually once your team has scored a few kills).
I am curious though, why do not more people like it? It's a map where you get to skip the laning phase and jump directly into fighting. You get way more fights than in SR, a 20 minute game will often have people close to double digit kills and/or deaths. It's less snowbally than SR and TT, so even if you fall behind early you can often come back (assuming you didn't waste your revive trinket).
Maybe its the very low IP you get for playing it?
Keep it till sandbox mode (I'm using dominion only for skins showcases, champion spotlight etc.) or just hide and seek with friends.
I think we should explore as to why it isn't fun. And try to fix it. I'd actually like the game mode, except there's no one to play it with.
I'm just throwing a guess out there, but the uniqueness of the game mode favors champs who can 1v1, as well as champs with high MS speeds. And do so without minion farm. And as a result, the champions viable for that game mode are actually rather small. Only a hand full of champions work for that game mode.
I like Dominion, but as I came back from various breaks form League I've noticed Que Times are crazy long and thats been My main reason for not playing. It seems like Dominion games are usually the same champs over and over with one or two people swamping out for something different. I see people mentioning not enough IP but I think that is kind of a bs excuse because I mean who plays League purely for IP I mean Personally I like playing ARAM or Dominion after I've gotten burned out on 5v5 or 3v3. I think if this game mode Got some love maybe add some new mechanics or a New objective, change the flow of the game a bit. Hell since people bitch about IP maybe make the game mode reward More Ip then it currently does. They could also add some more Dominion related summoner spells or Items. Maybe add a personal rank system of sorts to the normal dominion mode so the individual players can match on more of a skill system.
