I've mastered mid laning (with Zyra) and supporting (with Nami). I also jungle from time to time (with Diana). I really want to learn top laning with Riven (I just bought her) and I mean I'm learning but it's just not cutting it for blind pick. I'd like to know if there are any tips and tricks to learn so I can become a more versatile player!!

tips dont play riven l0l. And get the whole "mastered" thing out of your head because im diamond with 4 years of playing and wont say ive mastered shit otherwise I would be challenger. Riven is too hard for you to play and a majority of the time you will get smashed with it. Wait till you get better to play riven unless you like losing. Some suggestions of champions for you to play is malphite and annie. You also dont need to be diverse unless you are planning on playing on an lcs team which you shouldnt be unless you are masters/challenger anyways so id get that out of your head too.

Good job you bought the hardest champion to play in League of Legends. Here's a nice tutorial from an extremely skilled Riven player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azfhS76_6fE Other than that it's honestly just practice. With Riven in particular you absolutely need to learn how much damage you do at each stage of the game and when your powerspikes in each matchup are. Without this knowledge you will lose your lane, and since you don't really offer anything to your team once you fell behind you'll also lose a lot of games.

So, happy losing... uhhhh, learning!

first of all it bothers me u say u "mastered" those champions

secondly in low level and elo, buy flat ad runes and spash your q. if you want to be good, go into customs and practice animation canceling, so you can q, auto, q, auto in seconds. otherwise just keep playing her and u will get better

Build her on the tankier side, the way bestrivenna does, with out doing stuff like trading mr runes for cdr or rushing cdr boots. Black cleaver, spirit visage, deaths dance, ninja tabi/merc treads, deadmans plate, scimitar/maw/randuins. Take grasp of the undying and aim for efficient trades without getting hung up on trying to go all all in on people early game and snowballing. Just survive the lanes and try to be useful mid-late game in teamfights wit your cc and still very respectable damage despite your tankiness. People will waste a lot of coolowns trying to 1 shot you and it won't work, leaving your team open to take advantage while you back off and come back into the fight with some hp and cooldowns left to clean up.

Don't think about going to super glass cannon cdr rush riven style like boxbox unless you're a hard riven main with a looot of practice and matchup knowledge, and even then I'd say only go that way depending on the lane and team comp matchups. A heavier style riven has less ridiculous snowballing power when ahead, but doesn't get behind anywhere near as easily and is still relevant when behind unlike glass riven which can easily be shutdown and become 100% food for the enemy team.
