Xayah and Rakan recall abuse?

"If either Xayah or Rakan is recalliing, their lover can sync up with them, choreographing a perfect return to base." On the recall animation video, we can see that the second party joining the "dance" doesn't reset the cast time of the recall but "joins in". Wouldn't that mean it's a free escape from fights/teamfights that have gone wrong? Rakan prepares the recall while Xayah is dealing damage an when she wants to get out she can just instantly return to base, no? Or is the "joining" phase locked after a certain amount of time?

Sure it would be hard to plan and if they get hit my one minions or any kind or damage, both stay in lane and die but it's still possible to be an instant escape. For example, Xayah gets ignited and the fight is already over but she's gonna die if not healed and Rakan knew that so he started the recall cast so that Xayah could return to base and get healed.

Idk just a though.

PS: if they get hit by a single-target ability while recalling, like Blitzcrank's Q, who gets the damage/cc? Blitzcrank blitz laughs twice as hard as he pulls both lovers under tower for them to meet their doom OR blitz laughs even harder as he pulls Xayah under tower to meet her doom. He watches her lover scream as his soulmate is taken away from him. Too late to come out of the portal to safety but just in time to see her succumb to Blitzcrank's evil, Rakan collapse in the fountain, weeping for the rest of eternity (aka afk) summoner 3

On one hand you can look at it as abuse...on the other hand you can look at it as 8ish seconds of the enemy support or adc doing nothing in a fight.

and also if the duo backs together it's the perfect time to shove tower, whereas if one had stayed behind to defend it would have been much harder.

Blitz will pull both, Thresh will pull Xayah 100% of the time.

Is it abuse or a gameplay tactic specific to the champion set? :P

I watched an Imaque (I can't spell his name) on the champions just know and he brought up similar issues with abuse. Namely how one could just spam recall so that they could get out of their quickly after a bad situation if they time it right.

Hm, but then one of them isnt doing anything. The only situation I can think of where itd be useful is when Rakan starts recalling while Xayah farms a minion wave and joins him after, but even then it just saves ~7 seconds if you time it well.

True. It probably isn't all that practical to use on paper, or even in game.

Its one of those things that sounds cool in theory, and where you can easily dream up broken scenarios, but in practical applications will only really ever be used to get back to base a little quicker after pushing out lane and things like that.

Its like how you can ult back to lane with Ekko after recalling to base. Cool in theory, but in practice nobody ever really does that because it serves little use.

What are the odds that the other team won't ban one of the pair or snake them away when they suspect their enemies of choosing them are?

Also there won't be many game where there's the duo on the same team especially soloQ but yeah like others said, a cool thing like Ekko's ult back to lane but not that practical

So Blitz will pull only one of them. I tried something earlier. Xayah went in bush and i went in the zone to join her while backing but out of the bush and I still could be seen while Xayah couldn't.

They channel it for the full 8 seconds... There is plenty of time to interrupt it, not to mention that it is an interesting mechanic if successfully pulled off. Not really going to be an issue.
