I just played a league match for four points

So here i am, an average league player trying to climb his way up to as high as i can get to in ranked. I reach 96 points in silver one and am feeling confident as ever going into my next match smelling the potential of gold. I go in playing ahri and my team smashes as i channel my inner faker yelling as i play " look at the cleanse, look at the moves, WHAT WAS THAT". As we destroy the nexus I stare at the victory screen, excited to get onto the next thinking that I would be up one game in my best of five series since i was 96 points. But low and behold... i won for four points only. Why did this happen. plz riot

If it is your first time in the series, you do not get the free win. If you fail and get up there again, then you get 1 free win. I hear if you fail again and you get back in, its 2 free wins. After that it is all the same until season ends, you rank up, or you drop a rank.
