DYNAMIC Q IS UNFAIR

In this ranked game the other team had a dynamic party of 4 people, the Riven, Yasuo, Lucian, and Sona. It's unfair how our team was matched against them as they had a 4 man party and at most we could've had was 3. I was partied with Viktor. It was also unfair how it was impossible for our team to have more than a party of 3. When you reach diamond or higher the most you can party up with turns to 3, not 4, and not 5. Since they were still Platinum they were able to have party of 4, all smurfing. The Riven is hi its viper, and I think the Yasuo is Hashinshin. Lucian and Sona not sure but pretty sure Master or Challenger. Can Riot fix this dynamic q..

The issue here is smurfing, not DQ. The system understood that they were pre-made with good MMR but still Plat 3 vs Low to Mid Diamonds. From a numbers perspective, its working properly. What the game isn't taking into account is that those people are smurfs.

But guess what? Riot likes smurfing. It promotes the game better when people can make highlight montages all day when they play vs lower elo people. You think Nightblue would get as many views if he constantly played in challenger and score 5-5-5 every game? No, of course not. People want him to smurf and play vs Plats and Low to Mid Diamonds and stomp all day. It's exciting watching him go 20-2 every game vs 5-5.

Smurfs need to be separated into a smurfs only queue. Not only would they have longer queues forcing them to play on mains, but it would definitely shorten high elo queue times because they would play on their mains more.

Well a lot of high elo smurfs do it because of the insane queue times in their normal elo. Sure if they all moved onto their mains queue times would be better, but they aren't forced to do that.

The problem I always see is people blaming DQ for this sort of matching happening. Yet the core issue is ALMOST ALWAYS Smurfs (at least 90% of the times when people have this sort of issue). Riot has stated its stance on smurfs, but I think that they are the elephant in the room. People playing on extra accounts below their actual skill level has always been something, just before they were limited to a duo in ranked. Dynamic Queue is not going away, at least untill Season 8 I would say as the earliest.

I think finding a reasonable way to handle smurfs would fix the VAST majority of people's issues with Dynamic Queue. Smurfs from Diamond+ are the major issue, since they now have the incentive to do it to queue up as 4/5. Restricting all tiers to 3 max would be another option, but I think if that route is chosen other things need to happen as well. Ranked 5v5 needs to still be possible in some fashion, and CLUBS are the best place to tie it into with our current systems. I still think more would need to be done with that option though.

the only actual problem here isn't the matchmaking but rather the encouragement of smurfing

Except that the latter is the direct result of the former: DQ is what fucked the queue times in the highest tiers and forces those players to run alts if they want to play in any situation where they don't have three hours to spare. It's also what allows the clumping where three smurfs in comms together can drop into your game.

OP's blaming this on the dynamic queue is entirely valid.

My question is off-topic here, but what website is that? (To look at the elos)

You can go here while you are in a game and see the rankings of everyone by clicking on Live Game http://www.op.gg/

A 3+2 vs. a 4+1 with lower MMR sounds fair to me...

Bummer, but with new accounts that's always going to be a problem.

LOL all Plat 3 with 33 LP. weird.

The MMR difference was 28. That's incredibly close. The team of Plats are clearly smurfs. When the MMR difference hits 200, you can start complaining.

All of them had the same mount of LP, which suggest they were spamming ranked together from day one.

Cool.
