Anyone want to fill me in on why Riot decided to shut down the servers at the most asinine time?

The real reason is most likely due to emergency server maintenance, given that the other servers (EUNE, EUW, Turkey, Russia, etc.) are all still up and running.

YOU NWAH1 votesWhen should they do it? These companies don't work at 2 in the morning. They have to choose a time during business hours, and early morning is when the least amount of people are affected. There's nothing "asinine" about it.

That's true but for EST people the servers are down until 3PM, which is a substantial time for us Atlantic folks to play.
