Why on Earth am i winning 9lp and loosing 30??!?!

Hi all!

Maybe about a month ago i got into silver (was super happy) but then after a couple of wins in my new rank the amount of lp i was winning started to drop a lot, it went from 20-17 to 17-15 now i can't even remember the last time i won over 15. To add onto that every time i loose i loose 20-30 lp. I kind of understand what MMR is but after i got deranked due to the lack of lp i was winning i found myself from S5 to B2 and im still loosing so much lp. Also if you where wondering i solo qued all of my games to get to my rank i didn't get carried, I'm about to give up on ranked if this keeps happening can someone please tell me how to fix this or at least what the hell is going on

Thanks!!!

What's your win/loss ratio looking like? I remember a season or two ago where it was almost impossible for me to climb because my win/loss ration was <1. Once I finally got it over 1.0 I started to actually climb.

at this point i have been pretty disheartened and it went from 75% win to 25%

Sounds like you probably do have a low win/loss ratio then :( At least back a season or 2 ago, dynamic queue wasn't plaguing us... All you can really do is play well and hope you get on a large win streak :( GL

And that's why there are next to no support mains in ranked. I main support, and I may as well play Russian Roulette with 5 bullets. When I get a loss, I cannot carry because I can't afford to not build my utility, and by the time that happens, if the other lanes have done poorly, there's no amount of building I can do to compensate. Relying on the other 4 players to do their jobs and not feed while you support is absolutely painful and it makes crawling out of Bronze pure ELO hell because you get locked in.

Playing support can be the worse feeling sometimes. You can make as many epic plays as you want, but at the end of the day; if your adc sucks, none of your plays will matter. Doesn't help climbing this season when it's a lot harder to solo carry either :/

Actully you can absolutely carry from a support role. I took what Trick2g said and applied it to my support play when I used to play support a lot. its very simple simple, do not play supports that rely solely on the for example, Nami, Braum Soraka etc. Have you tried brand or blitz in a support role? and also make sure you get the necessary support items like sightstone and sweeper but be as selfish as possible. I play support every now and then, when I am feeling a bit mechanically unstable because, I just have to land myskill shots and sometimes save the adc, but I still win most of my support games, I only stopped playing support because I am very toxic when someone messes up in lane and I am much better in solo top and jungle.

DO NOT play support... Play a lane and learn it...

The whole LP system is just utterly ridiculous. I've never seen any other game that escalates your losses and slashes your winnings, essentially forcing you to drop rank and putting you in a tailspin that you can't really pull out of unless you have friends who can ensure a win.

You need to be on a win streak if you want to balance out your MMR. Right now League is practically saying you shouldn't be in that rank at the moment. Mine used to be like that earlier this season, I was B5, and after I got into silver I would lose 25 LP and gain 18. But after I found my main champ, I stuck to it and went on a win streak, now my MMR caught up to my actual rank.

This MMR system would be all fine and dandy if there weren't other players involved. No matter how hard you try, you can't make up the differences between 1 or 2 bad players by doing well yourself, and then you get dumped on. Then you get placed in a lower MMR tier with other players who aren't playing well, thus perpetually locking you into losses unless you run into a series of matches where the enemies all troll you to victory. This ranking system is pretty impossible to rise in unless you have dedicated friends.
