Anyone else have this problem in ranked?

So I'm not the most amazing player, by far. BUT being in bronze rank I seem to run into a LOT of people who are NOT in bronze rank. For example in team rank 5v5, we're bronze V. The last game we played had Silver IV players and a Platinum V player against us, so of course players that have way higher skill than us obliterate us all. What in the holy god are they doing being matched into bronze rank? Is the matchmaking system that broken? If that's how it works then what's the point of having the rank ladder organized the way it is?

The thing with rank 5v5 is that solo queue elo doesn't affect it. A lot of higher elo players like to fool around and play lower elo opponents so they make a ranked 5v5 team just for trolling, and deliberately lose to be matched with lower elo players.

This is -so- untrue.

There aren't a lot of ranked 5s teams. I'd imagine most people in lower elos don't take the game very seriously or even consider playing in a ranked 5s team. So bronze 5 in ranked 5s is like a bunch of golds playing on a team. I also can't imagine the match maker is awesome considering there simply aren't a lot of ranked 5s teams.

What I say is true. I have observed it. Not everybody views Ranked 5s as a serious thing. Ranked 5s can be played casually. I don't even know what you're trying to say in that second half.

Also, for what it's worth, you're not even part of a ranked 5s team so what you say is mere conjecture. The main reason high elo solo queue players are low ranked in a ranked 5s team is because they're screwing around/not taking it seriously. There are no ramifications for doing so in 5v5.

I see, thanks for telling me. I think it's such shit that higher elo players are able to stick to lower ranks like that in rank 5's and troll around like that. That takes all the enjoyment out of that part of ranked play =|
