Support Heimendinger? Why Yes!

Seems that a lot of people forgot that Heim's secondary role is support...and when I pointed that out in my last few matches recently...they were like "OHHHH! Okay, well you're playing heim bad anyway so I guess that's ok..." DUH! It's a support Heim, not like I'm trying to play MID or overpower the ADC here...sheesh

Funny thing...Heim as a support is quite nice, especially with his "close quarters" regen passive...then there's his item setup. It's nice...and I found one that works marvelously.

Heimerdinger - summoner 12 summoner 4 item 3341 - item 2302 item 3222 item 3089 item 3135 item 3285 item 3030

item 3092 - Suggested by players, and isn't that bad of an idea. item 3020/ item 3158 - Suggested by players, a good idea for early on.

So far, I haven't been able to complete the whole setup, but you know what? It's an easy A+ - S+ when supporting a good ADC that plays particularly well. Turrets might CS over your ADC, so perhaps start with bombs and rockets...at level 6 you should have 1 point in turrets for that ULT (Helps with dragon tremendously).

Thoughts? Ideas? Tweaks? Flames? Salt? [slayer-jinx-catface]

item 3116 Slows so your ADC can engage better.

Honestly, if you can detail me better how, I would try it. Because I have NO IDEA how the heck am I gonna get an S rank as Heimer. XD

I mean, if you insist on going support you should run frost queen's claim and at least have boots in your build. Part of the reason you haven't completed your build yet is because your build is incredibly expensive for a support. It also isn't the most efficient way to do heimer's job (dps) which is why you should ditch the talisman sightstone alonf with mikails in facor of frost queens / regular sight stone. If you really want of the special sight stones, you should at least go the AP one so you don't hold yourself back.

Good luck and have fun.

I actually like that relic for when your turrets steal cs. Also means spellthief doesn't get disabled. I might reccomend sitting on relic, getting sightstone then saving some gold and selling relic for eye of the watchers. Depends if you want ap over tank though.

It's ok, but doesn't work vs long range ADCs like Cait, Varus, Ashe, lategame Trist and Kog.

Heimerdinger support sounds awful. You bring zero utility to the table, unless you're able to land the stun that takes ten years to travel, or always ult with your E.

If I were to do this, I wouldn't go your build path.

You can substitute Deathcap for item 3157 if you're a bitch.

You can also substitute Banner for item 3190 depending on the game.

Honestly, I never build Mikaels because I'm bad at using it, and I feel like there are better items.

Edit: (Forgot boots)

Your build is unrealistic for a true support. You'd need to KS quite a bit, which is generally frowned upon. ADCs without a doubt have the most damage potential late game, so while you may get an S, you're also stepping all over your ADC. If the other team has a fed carry, then you just shot your team in the foot big time. Sometimes you need to be the hyper aggressive one because you got a bum ADC, but I usually like to wait to see how they are.

You can build whatever you like on support, contrary to popular belief, but support income is always really low even when you're playing very good. I would adjust your build accordingly. You do need item 3092 , but honestly? It's just one of the best AP items currently anyways. There are mid laners who incorporate it into their builds. For someone as immobile as Heim, it does give you the ability to catch up to people as well on top of the gold income that you need.

You'd also have to be really careful with the turrets, and I'd imagine you'd make a random ADC you don't know very nervous. It isn't griefing if you build what you want or leave bot lane occasionally, however if you take an ADC's CS in lane without their permission than you will get reported. The reason anyone fears Heim is his turrets, and without them he is a bit weak. Early game if he doesn't have his turrets up, the enemy can usually get away with a lot. Even a melee support can bully you two out of lane or worse.

I could see both you and your ADC being very susceptible to an early all in, especially with an equally aggressive support that took ignite, which is why I believe you should take exhaust with an inherently passive champion as support. It does save you and your ADC because it momentarily slows them and causes them to do less damage.

All and all running these kinds of champions in a normals environment isn't bad and can be fun, but you would ultimately lose lane against an experienced support that knows how to play around the cheesy stuff. Basically you'd be very annoying for a little bit, but one faux pas and it could spiral out of control very quickly. Any AoE ability is going to really mess you up as well, and make your ADC very vulnerable.

As long as you understand all that, and don't take it into something like ranked, I think it is interesting to try this stuff out. People often don't realize their limitations until they have that one really miserable game though, unfortunately.

Necro'n - and what a better time than never to do so since well...Heim got the shaft over the last two years. Looks like the Dinger can now literally support and make it count where it's gooood!
