Veigar scales so hard and does just so much damage and is pretty fun.
Also malzahar. I personally find him fun because of how unfun he is to play against. Making your enemy suffer is always a good time.
, honestly.
Not right now, as she's too strong (meaning she's actually being picked and banned by other people), but she's a solid choice in most matchups, rarely a "bad" pick, brings the solo kill potential and mobility of an assassin with the general usefulness of a mage when behind.
You can roam well, have good damage, have the CC and mobility to survive a lot of situations that most assassins or mages couldn't, and can survive poke fairly well because of your Q passive.
She's not supposed to carry though. In a teamfight she should kill 1 or 2 champs maybe, if the gold distribution is about even. This compared to someone like Diana who can murder the enemy team if she plays properly makes her a completely different monster.
ATM ahri is too safe and does too much reliable damage with too little effort. The very definition of braindead.
"Carrying" has many definitions. Soraka is one of the best carries. She won't kill more than 2 people over the course of the game, but she's the best carry because you pretty much can't kill her team if you don't kill her first, meaning any team that protects her has an almost 100% chance of winning each teamfight. She carries not through damage, but through making her team impossible to kill.
Ahri is good at getting people ahead, scales decently well, and isn't too much of a burden when behind. She's also great at picking off priority targets fairly safely, while being pretty hard to pick off herself due to passive, E, and R making killing her a pain in the ass come mid-game. She's a good carry because of this. Because you can remove priority targets (Yes, even Soraka) with relative ease, and with a low chance of it being a 1 for 1 trade (Odds are far higher of both of you getting away than for both of you dying).
In essence, you're the best qualities of a mage combined with the best qualities of an assassin. You lose out on a bit (You aren't as safe or useful regardless of KDA as most mages, nor are you as mobile or damaging as most assassins), but the gains from the combination are well worth what is lost to balance it out.
She may not be the best to carry with as you pass Gold, sure, but she's a fine carry up until then (assuming you learn her well), and she's a solid champion to climb on for most - if not all - ranks.
Also, she does still have a few things she needs to aim, and she needs good reactions to be useful. There is no "run at them and faceroll until they die" scenario, like there can be with Talon and some other assassins.
It's hard to carry with a mage as your cooldowns will get in the way, but there are a few exceptions. Lux barely has any cooldowns, and is generally pretty easy. Just remember to auto once when your spells land if you're in range. Vel'Koz's important cooldowns are low and he has a VERY strong team-presence with a true damage ult. Aurelion Sol's roam is on point and he can always do a significant amount of damage without using most of his abilities.
Katarina is definitely the most satisfying mid mage to carry with. Her mobility is insane but she's a melee champ with no defensive options only offensive options. She takes A LOT of effort to master, but in a master's hands she's deadly. This used to be azir, but even good azir players can't do anything with him right now.
Now when it comes to AD mids it's a bit easier. Zed atm with electrocute&ignite is pretty braindead. W on the enemy, E then Q. If they're low, swap with your shadow and ult. If you're about to be cc'd W away and/or ult the enemy, then go to your W/Ult shadow. Talon atm with electrocute&ignite is pretty braindead. W on the enemy, then Q and ignite them while they're lower than 80% health and you can kill them. Lategame just ult into the team and hop over walls. Wukong atm with electrocute&ingite is pretty braindead. E on the enemy, Then Q, and ignite them while they're lower than 80% health and you can kill them.
Yasuo's more fun and challenging. You do not take Electrocute on Yasuo. You cannot kill the enemy midlaner from 80% health unless they're VERY pushed in and you are high health. Timing your W's is satisfying and challenging, and if you cannot land your tornado skillshot, you will not be able to harass the enemy properly. I recommend playing Yasuo if you want to carry and actually challenge yourself.
I will main a champ for a week or two, then change it up..
Currently playing
and LOVIING IT!
I choose Mid / Bot because he excels at both.
Rush
&
then complete
So funny fighting in your 3 turret triangle, pop W and E, then
and watch them die, while you are in stasis.
W and E are both skill shots, and you really wanna hit E dead center for the stun / turret charge.
That being said, once you get really good at landing his skill shots, he is a MONSTER in damage.
Try it out man.

If you know how to roam and close out games then talon and zed and Fizz are good picks. If you want flashy big play scaling pentakill then azir.
Panth. I'm one of the 0.1% of the player base that has been maining pantheon mid and honestly he is really amazing if played right. it's rare to have a bot lane that isn't feeding nowadays and having the ability to gank (R) bot every 2 mins really helps. Just don't pick into Xerath and Azir they are your hard counters, Zed also is but he is perma banned anyway so yeah. But if you do play against zed you can dodge his ult with your ult, which a lot of people don't know. Max e first because Q gets you minion attention now.
